That should be a gfi outlet because it's proximity to water
lafishguy
lafishguy - 6 years ago
While a GFCI would be 'safer' there are two issues, one is getting an electrician to come out and change it in such a tucked-away-area, and GFCI's can be sensitive and trip quite easily thus shutting down the entire aquarium system, possibly in an un-needed situation causing the loss of fish and corals.

hi John, Honestly, I try not to travel very far. I have potential weekly service in Santa Barbara that is 65 miles away and Ive factored in an additional $100 Drive Fee. I believe Beaumont would be 120 miles away. What is it you are looking for?

Since you were not specific I cant answer your question specifically but if the results are ZERO I believe you can safely move forward.

Really well done. The electrical box was installed there I think as that is the standard height of a plug box. Stuff happened. I'm assuming your going to have to move it or do something about that! Keep us posted, can't wait to see the next show. Awesome bro

Most glass tanks rest on a plastic frame and thats what supports and lifts the bottom panel off the surface. Its the glass tanks, such as this one, with 'floating' bottoms ( where the bottom panel rests inside the outer panels, that are much more subject to cracking as a result of sitting on an uneven surface or pressure at one point.

+Ehsan Adib (At Reef) No surface is 100% even, if you wish to avoid long-term problems use a pad

I have the same type of tank
lafishguy

+Ehsan Adib (At Reef) Not all glass tanks require the pad. This glass tank has a 'floating' bottom panel meaning the weight rests on the outside four panels.
