John Lucero the new water you put in should have roughly the same parameters your tank is so you're good. In fact if you have very little corals you can get away w doing WC and not dosing at all.

I use pop bottles. You can easily see the cal and alk levels dropping in the bottles, so can tell that your pumps are working.
