THE BOAT SHOW

Cloud 9, a term used by the Anglo-Saxons to indicate the greatest happiness, something heavenly. So let's go to Heaven. She's been built by CRN, the Ancona shipyard founded in 1963 and it is today part of Ferretti Group. There are a good 180 CRN mega yachts currently cruising. Cloud 9 is 74 meters long, 13.5 meters wide; the hull is made of steel and over the deck is made of aluminum. She is been tailor made for his owner who lives here with his family for long periods; she is his home and from here he also organizes his work. For him and his family, a private area of 400 square meters. Zuccon International Project has drawn the exterior lines and Winch Design has dealt with the external guest areas and interior décor. Burgess, a highly professional service company in the world of superyacht, has supervised all the phases relating to his construction, from the design to the final technical checks. There are cabins for 12 guests and 22 crew members; in theory it is as if every guest had two crew members for him. If used privately, she can carry 16 people in 7 cabins in addition to the suite master. Cloud 9 has 6 decks. She has 6,000 miles of autonomy at 12 knots and she can cross the oceans. Thanks to two Caterpillar 3516C-Chd 2682 hp @1600 rpm engines, Cloud 9 has a maximum speed of 16.5 knots and the highest cruising speed is 15 knots. The fuel tanks hold 250,000 liters and water tanks 40,000 liters. To rent it for a week in the Caribbean seas, $ 875,000 is needed. Only a few can be here. The owner already has multiple businesses and employs thousands of people in his retail empire. He is also a huge benefactor and donates to charities regularly. The yacht itself is not only for his is own pleasure, but is regularly rented out.

They're actually a little more cramped than they appear. The camera used in a lot of these shots used a wide angle lens. They're fun to look at, but I'm not sure I'd want to live on one.

Having less concerns i.e. not having to worry about paying bills and ones mortgage or rent. Or loans etc. Of course that would make anyone happy...temporarily. Thats why people dream of winning the lottery. To secure themselves and family and friends forever. I think we are on different wavelengths here. While I completely understand what you say, I am specifically talking about being happy. It doesn't last forever. I have first hand experience of it going awry as you do.

I think you answered it yourself. If wealth makes your life easier, less stressful, then you get to enjoy life with less concerns, therefore happier than if you struggled to make ends meet all the time. I said travel because it's human nature to want to explore, we're curious beings. Sure, someone might be happy living in some slum in India, but ask them if they'd like the chance to have a proper living elsewhere, with food on the table everyday for the entire family, I wonder if they'd say no if you think they might be "truly happy" in their current situation.

I mean true happiness. Wealth makes your life easier, less stressful etc.. but happier? Happiness is like a drug, it's impossible to sustain without craving for more. Theres a limit of how a human being can "feel" being "happy". The things you say that wealth can provide are all true of course. But you can do all of what you said without wealth apart from travelling the world (why would that make you happy?)

Plenty of them. Wealth allows you to make your dreams come true, to provide a good education to your children, a safe environment, the best healthcare available. Allows you to travel the world and learn about different cultures and bond with your family and friends while doing so. Don't confuse being rich with being famous, most people who are rich aren't famous.

That's the base price, you also have to deposit probably around 150-200k with the captain. Returnable but it's 'splash cash', this covers any hire cars, excursions, impromptu helicopter transfers, the fuel used also etc etc.
