At last the Yamaha V8 makes sense. At 350hp it was too heavy - then they brought out a 300hp version - NUTS! Now at 425hp the power to weight ratio is much better.

What stuns me the most, is the fact that Yamaha must sell enough of these to make it profitable. It must have cost millions to bring these motors to market, so they expect to sell enough to recoup that cost plus profit. Now think that these motors are competing with motors from other companies, such as Seven Marine, Mercury, etc... So there is a market for these large enough to support multiple manufacturers. What does that tell us about wealth in today's world? The 1% crowd must be getting larger...

Great review, but I seriously doubt if that long skinny hull is very stable. Any attempt at high speed maneuvering would probably capsize the whole thing, and those beautiful engines would end up in Davy Jones' locker.

This is absolutely the slowest most expensive turd I have ever seen. There is literally no benefit of having a boat like this. Unless u rich and want a slow turd that runs 400 l an hour lmao. that boat is 15 meters thats pretty crazy amount of weight and length also this boat is more performance than cruising speed. A center console of the same size would need the same amount of power. 15 meters is roughly 50 feet and thats a lot of boat to go fast. I DO AGREE 2 STROKES ARE BETTER.

It seems sluggish. Is there any steps in the hull ?? Watch the 57 MTI with 4-400R's this guy tested. It's like night and day on the speed, he hit close to 60 mph with a larger boat and 100 less HP.

They all suck ass and blow up/cost too much now a days. Get yourself a nice 1962 Johnston Sea Horse 25hp, now that is an outboard! Most of them are still fishing today. You wont be able to say the same about our modern engines. E-tec only good for 200hr before rebuild i heard, but i love 2stroke.

Evinrude starts first time everytime !
No carburetors so no problems !
No bullshit like timing this and that to breakdown requiring maintenance !

ACCELERATION INSTANT POWER OUT OF THE HOLE ON AN INSTANT PLANE !

THE KEY IS TO HAVE THE MOTOR SERVICED BY EVINRUDE APPROVED PROFESSIONALS ON TIME !

EVINRUDE E-TEC IS BOMBPROOF !

THE BEST OUTBOARD EVER DESIGNED ! ! !

SO SMOOTH YOU WON'T BELIEVE IT ! ! !

@HDaviator that has nothing to do with it bud, it is purely for performance in rough and stability when sitting still. The tubes take a lot of the shock when landing in rough water for a smoother ride.

I could be wrong, but I believe part of the reason ribs are so popular in Europe is because of the way boats dock in Europe. You don't need to worry about rubbing against other boats and is just more convenient.
