Willie boat Wooldridge duckworth and custom weld must not be from planet earth. The northwest knows more about aluminum boats than you could ever know.

Agreed. I wonder if he knows that Weldcraft and Duckworth share a pedigree... It's great that everything still works after four years of use, but can't most welded boats say that? I've seen a couple of his other videos, where he's running in shallow water. But I don't think that's anything special since he's running a jon boat hull. Let him take it out on a large lake or near-shore saltwater where he's contending with chop and wakes, and he'll have a different view. What he has works well as a bass boat, but if salmon is more your game, it wouldn't be my first choice.
Weldcraft makes a great boat. But if I had to run on super skinny water, I'd probably go Wooldridge. The Alaskan runs in scary skinny water, but rides really rough and wet in chop. It's a trade-off.

I've ordered this boat in a 1756 with a 60/40 jet, just like Joe has, but I'm debating about upping it to a 90/65 jet. Adds about 100 more lbs and probably at least $3,000 more. Not sure if it's worth it. Joe, are you happy with the performance of the 60/40 jet with 2-3 people onboard? What kind of speeds are you getting with two guys onboard?

I get about 23-25mph out of mine. It sips gas and it's light. Easy to tow and easier to get out of bad boat ramps because of less weight. If you need to make longer runs go for the bigger motor.

In case anyone is interested in this boat, it is known as the "1752 MUV Jet Econo" or also the "Fishing with Joe Signature Series". I'm in the process of putting in an order, working out some details. They also have a new version of this boat. Its similar in size, but the storage compartments and deck are set up more like the larger competition boats with a center rod locker. It's the "1756 SSVEJ CRL" model. .... Gotta Love it!

+JAKid50 Mine is a 17ft model. It's the perfect size for me and it has a deck as big as a 19ft boat. I can fish two guys on the front deck. It's economical and it's tough as nails. See the Weld Craft boats at the Columbus Fishing Expo next weekend at the Ohio State Fairgrounds.
