I kinda want both (and will probably get neither)
The Dufour 48 was exceptional. I liked that they are among a few that are bringing yachts out of the 1990s.
Privilege was on the way, but stopped short with the 615.
FP is slowly bringing their wares to market. But their quality is just a bit better than a FEMA trailer.
If those two teamed up with Michel Dufour's electrical engineers, they could build one hell of a yacht.
The Privilege 615 "Sea Forever" (I think) has an early version of a digital yacht monitoring and control system. But stopped short of integrating it into the breaker panel.
Fountaine Pajot teamed with NavyLec, and is following suit on the Saba 50.
But still stops short of integrating the breaker panel as well.
C-Zone can tie everything together, from the tanks, engines, Gen-set, solar and BMS, to navigation. But only a few manufacturers are doing full integrations.
Builders seem reluctant to embrace modern technology. You can now literally control 99% of the boat with an ipad.
That particular cat has even a spacious master and a galley in a fantastic spot in the salon.
I hear great things from the maker's videos, and the usual anti electric rubbish in online comments; but some actual expert opinions would be very much appreciated.
But.. I asked them a few times, when it was prototyped, what the expected range is. Their canned response was "unlimited".
Another interested party said about 30 Nm before having to use a Genset.
So you're still stuck having to store diesel on the boat.
