Im 6 ft 205 i dont have time for like anything less than six foot. I hate how they tell ubto go thebsmallest possible. I need a board thats easy to ride.

I would consider a beginner anyone who is just learning to surf for the first time up to someone that has learned to go down the line and can perhaps do some turns but not consistently or with confidence. Looking at how much control and comfort they have on a surfboard.

can you clarify what you a beginner is? right now have in end of second season with a starter board (6'11"). I'm comfortable catching waves and riding. looking to make a board change - i'm based in tel aviv so the surf isn't amazing but we have fun

I would not recommend this board for a beginner. It is nice and floaty but the Biscuit or the Waterhog would be better to start out on.

a 5 2 fishcuit has 34 liters or volume so it floats me and im 140

They never made a Tuflite version of the Fishcuit, only the Biscuit. You could get it made EPS or the new eco board construction though.

A biscuit might be a good next step for you. It is generally meant for smaller surf though so if you are riding significantly steeper and bigger waves than you rode on your longboard you may want to get something more performance based.

thanks for the helpful vid! im looking for a fun longboard replacement and this seems like the winner haha. And so the beach i go to is a longboard beach, yet will usally have some steep waves 5-7ft. Will the biscuit perfom well to the waves height/steepness? *surfing lvl 2 years thank you :)

Probably something from 5'0 to 5'3. Since you are a beginner it is ok to go bigger. This is a really great board but if you are just starting out I would also recommend checking out the biscuit. I think it would be a little more user friendly in a variety of conditions.

It depends on what size you get, they don't penetrate the water as easily as a really pointy thruster but they aren't bad if you have the right size.

Im 5'9'' and weigh 150lbs and i ride the 5'9'' x 18 5/8'' x 2 3/16 fred rubble board and im thinking of also getting the fishcuit to add to my ever growing collection of surfboards. what dimensions do you suggest i should i get?

Yes they do float very well. You could probably ride a 5'6 if a 5'9 fish is feeling too big for you.

hi, I'm 6'2 177lbs and I have a 5'9 fish but I am looking to get a new board because my current one is too big. The waves where I surf are not particularly big or fast but I still like my boards as short as possible. do fishcuits float well? Thanks

great review...pretty much all ya need to know.. I picked up a 5'6" from surf station... I'm 6'1" 190 . Changed out the fins to stretch fronts 375 pivot rears .Much better imo. The fishcuit will get you in the water on the smallest of days . recently rode it in steep,clean 2'-3' surf and it is FAaaaast ! Too much fun.

@over0work0under0laid It really depends on a number of factors in addition to your height and weight. Ballpark: you could ride anything from a 5'0-5'5. @Smoshisjizztastic For your size you would ride anything from a 6'2" Fishcuit and up. It really depends on what you have been riding how small you go. Go about 6-8" shorter than your everyday shortboard shape. Im 5'10, 150, riding 5'11s in overhead surf and ride the Fishcuit in a 5'2". -MattO

You could ride a really small one that you might have to order custom (like 4'10ish) or if you could ride one between 5'0-5'2. Cool lookin shape man! I was riding a fish I borrowed a few times back in the 70's. Very funcional boards for sm to sizy surf if you get a longer one 6'2-6'4ish though. I surfed a 5'4" knee board @ six foot height I am, yet the damn thing tore it up! The hardest part was getting up on it the first time(mostly paddling)...but once you get it- shred-up!
