Do you think you could add hydrofoil fins to a small hp outboard and power a larger skiff or paddle board

I think the problem then would be retracting for shallow water. The boats or foils in use have the fins on the boat. I'm just guessing, but that seems to be the only downside to these foil boards. You have to know your area really well, or you run the risk of reef or sandbar collision. In a boat you don't get in it, in deep water. You pull away from shore or dock already in it.

pretty impressive, i use duel electric trolling motors mounted on either side of my bote paddle board, works really well, but i went with the cheapest troller i could get.. ie. mine kota 30lbs of force and, even with 2 of them, it's still too slow! maybe you have some advice on how i could speed this thing up without spending a fortune on new trollers?

If it had a dampener built into the up and down action to reduce the movement reflected down to the foils so the tilting would affect the fins about half maybe? Like power steering sort of.

Its direct drive so no reduction gear in newest design. We have a couple prototypes RPM's range from 7000 - 16,000 from mini prop to high speed impeller.

I love the motor assembly and variable throttle. One suggestion: put the battery-box between where you expect to put your feet. You will have a much easier time controlling the angle of attack for the foil.

Yes, best spot is right underneath us inside the board for a more balanced ride.
