Will self tanner look patchy on skin with acne on it? (not just acne prone, but with acne constantly). I do exfoliate, but that has been one of the reasons I have been hesitant to try self tanners.

Thank you for the honest and detailed review. One of the thing enhances and prolongs fake tanning is to exfoliate and get rid of dead skin before putting the tanning solution. A good exfoliation makes the tan even and long lasting. Try the Baiden Mitten for exfoliation.

I think the next day smell comes from them being old and not new. Reason I say that is I did at a booth and I smelled the same and I assume it wasn't used for a while as it was way after any proms.

I'm so glad I came across your video. I've been debating on the Banana Boat line of self-tanners and your review totally helped! I'm going to pick some up from Walmart. I have naturally light skin with pink undertones. Is the deep dark color a harsh contrast or is it fairly subtle? I do prefer a richer tan but not too dark. Any advice would be great. Thank you!

I use fake bake and it gives a great color until you shower but what I usually do is get a shower moisturizer then reapply daily. It works wonders!!

When I apply it to my hands I put the vaseline on my knuckles and fingers, palms, and the "heel" of my hands. Then when I'm done applying the tanner everywhere else, I carefully peel back my glove, so just the top of my hand is exposed and I apply the tanner to the top of my hand and wrist. Then I put the glove back and do it on the other side. Self tanner never really lasts on my hands, because I wash them so much, but it at least looks good the first few days...

A good tip when applying cream, lotion or mouse self tanners is to keep your fingers together. It will give you an even application if you don't use gloves or powder brushes.

I would love to see a self tanner routine video from you! What ever your methods are, it looks UHMAZIN! I have a few questions like how often do you apply it, which ones do you use more frequently, how often do you exfoliate and "restart" the process, is there a specfic exfolient method/products that you use, how do you get it to apply so evenly (tons of us have problems with streaking and blotchy weird spots). I have the fake bake flawless, and i feel like i have to apply it 6 days in a row to get dark, but then when i dont apply it for 2 days, i get really pale and patchy. I always shower twice a day, so maybe thats why it doesnt last long. I dont exfoliate either. I moisturize my body every other day. And also, the smell of it when it develops is really bad. And it stays on the skin even after the shower! :(

I used a tanning bed for yrs I stopped late last year,,but having had ugly scares on my legs I wanted to have a tan to make them look prettier..and getting older,will be 49 in 2 weeks ,my veins look bad on my legs..sooooo.. Have you tried the Million Dollar Tan's Cabana lotion? I use it in the extreme and it is literally amazing. It is the only self-tan that I've used that dries quick, evenly, and produces color in a very short amount of time. Awesome product, way better alternative to tanning beds and it gives such an amazing and dark brown color.

Thanks! Super happy with the Fake Bake result! Especially because it's long lasting had has great color. Before I was using the Lorac Self-Tantalizer, which gives great color but is NOT long lasting.. it borders more on body make-up. I wanted to just add a *****WARNING**** to anyone who is considering traveling with the Fake Bake in their luggage on a plane - it leaked TWICE w/ 2 different lids and I made sure they were tight!!! Make sure you store it in a Ziploc bag! Not impressed with that.

I'm not that fair I'm just med. and I put on BANNANA BOAT DEEP and I was sooo dark the next day. Almost to dark and I love being dark dark so that is really rare for me to say. I love this stuff but just make sure to exfoliate and moisturize often. I put this on my face and it looked really good BUT it clogs your pores really bad so if you use it just put on cheeks. I would really just suggest this as a body one. It is a really pretty tan though

I am so glad you did this video, I love your videos and I have been trying to find a good self tanner. If I try to tan outside, it either takes forever and fades quick or I just end up burning. I recently tried a towelette self tanner and it was soo orange and really streaky and uneven!

instead of using gloves, i put a thick regular moisturizer on my hands prior to putting any self-tanner on. for me, this prevents the tanner from soaking into my hands and i just wash my hands when i'm finished applying and i've never had any issues! HTH.

hey hun, i seen your comment and thought i'd let you know that i've been using the st tropez mousse for 2 years now. It is definitely one of the best self tanners out there! I love the smell, the color, everything! Just make sure it's the bronze mousse. The gradual one does give a nice glow tho.

I really like the L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Lotion, Luminous Bronzer. I used to like it but now that they changed the scent to something a little nicer I LOVE it. It works well for me and it's cheap. I self tan a lot and the bottle lasts me forever.

Your absolutely right! I managed a tanning salon for 4 years & it absolutely does always depend on the PH of your skin. Products with DHA bronzers in them give a more golden/orange glow. Erythrulose is the natural bronzer that gives a more brown color. You know your stuff!! :)

beautisol complete tanning this is my mitt.and i finally found a tanner i can use.i hate the smell,upfront,of most & then as your skin develops,it stinks. this one has a masking odor technology.it really works.i am Irish & glow in the dark,so i only use it once per week, to look natural.so basically i am just darker white. but at least i don't blind the neighbors when i go outside & the sun hits them. i live down south.

your mitt looks like mine & this is the second time you have said it's gross,and it's not. are you using it backwards? the cloth side goes on the backside of your hand,and the white sponge side has a barrier in there,to keep the tanner completely off you hands.

im surprised you didnt mention the Jergens Natural Glow gradual self tanner, you can find it at the drug store and its super inexpensive and it REALLY works, but it has a weird scent to it so that's the only drawback.. loved this vid <3

Tanning in a 'tube' is sooooo much better than baking in the sun!! I was diagnosed with melanoma skin cancer (the worst kind of skin cancer) at the age of 20. I have been battling it for the past 5 years and I will be for the rest of my life. I used to worship the sun and fry my skin and now I have to pay for it. I have many scars all over my arms, legs, back, stomach, but I have come to terms with it and the scars only tell my story of my battle, they don't define me. Yay for self-tanners! =)

IMPORTANT QUESTION!! I have been wanting to buy the fake bake spray for a while but am curious how it looks when it's wearing off? My sun labs lotion would be blotchy and a really gross yellow orange color, and I hated it and couldn't get it off quick enough. My knees were always way to dark too, it looked ridiculous. After using Jergens for ages, I switched to the Malibu Hemp Golden Glow lotion because you mentioned it in an earlier video. I LOVE this product. I love the smell, the amount in the bottle, and definitely the $5.99 price tag. People have commented on my "tan" so much in the last few weeks and they are shocked when I tell them it is fake.
