@GO SURF thanks mate my weight is going down again so I will go with the 9.5 because I don't want to over fin. For the flu, I have been using Harkers Herbal product pretty good shit and it worked pretty fast. Cheers Dude

Rob Wallace nice mate. Yeah think everyone here is talking about the surf being good here too over the weekend so hopefully I can make a recovery but not feeling like it at the moment. Ah ok your a little heavier. Possibly might be wise to go up a size of fin but 9.5 could be ok. The FCS connect is slightly bigger and a nice fin too (preferably screw plate over click in. Then it's 9.75" Greenough 4A then you go up to 10" tracker after that. Could be good just to try the 9.5 tracker though. You can always move it back a bit and I hate to over fin boards if it's not necessary personally. Sorry to confuse you but it's quite hard to know for sure 9" works perfectly on the 9 so 9'5" should be ok on the 9'6" Hyper might well have one up they're. Try Andre at ultimate if not. Not sure if he stocks captain fin co or not. Exit surf down here always have good stock and shipping is probably free over $50 I think.

@GO SURFhaha mate got the flu myself, still going for surf this weekend though, I think it's going to be pretty epic on the east coast. I am about 98kgs at the moment. Is there anywhere in Auckland that might have them?
BTW got a seaside 5'11" woolight yesterday pretty dang excited about it, I am just going to use my futures controllers should be ok? cheers mate

Rob Wallace hey buddy. Not too bad thanks. Just getting over the flu. Can't remember what you weigh but I would expect the 9.5" tracker would go good in that. 10" if really necessary but from memory the board doesn't go up to being huge even at 9'6". Cheers

Hey mate.. Not really sure what to suggest.. I had no bother whatsoever catching waves on this board but I guess it depends on what your unsed to and what you weight and how you surf etc. It's not going to catch waves like a 9'4" retro log at 9'0" but I found mine to be a great wave catcher even in 1 ft waves. It wasn't as fussy about balance position paddling as the wingnut either.. The wingnut would be a slightly better wave catcher but not heaps.. I tend not to struggle to catch waves on most longboards though to be fair as i'm used to shorter boards and dont mind positioning myself a bit closer to the peak.. Only things I can suggest is experiment with if you can be any futher forward paddling or not and also trust the board and rocker to put yourself a little closer to the peak.. Sorry I can't be more helpful..I found this a great paddler and performer myself.

Cheers Mitchell Thanks heaps for the great feedback. Would love to try an even shorter one myself. It goes amazing even at 9'0" as you say you really can surf them of the tail aye.. Took me a wee while to adjust to the tail size but once you get it you see how much left and push the tail is providing and those straight rails put a lot of the speed back in that the rocker might otherwise take a little of away. I was riding just the wingnut before and this turns much better and has more high end and less risk of pearling. Thats being pretty fussy though they are both amazing boards. Have fun mate you will be smashing it harder and harder over the next few sessions you can dig into the turns and take off later than you think on this board too.
