How would this compare to the sci fi and gamma in the 3 to 5 range? Which is the most maneuverable? Between a 5'7" sci fi, 5'8" skx, or a 5'10" gamma (hp version)

Depends on you, where you surf, etc. But as a good rule of thumb with the SKX if in doubt go up

Thanks!!! As you said in the review, i have a 5'5" EVO with 30.5L and it works awesome for me, i must go to same volume in SKX, 5'11" 30.2L?

Now you are testing us!! Think the V3 Stealth would not have the same top end as the SKX. Which really does work as big as you want to go.

Hi, Both do the same thing almost - just in a totally different way. If you are coming from a non standard shortboard background or approach (ie EVO - Sci-Fi or even fish) the SKX is easier to surf.

Not really, totally different boards in the flesh.Chubby was a great board. SKX is even better!!!

Hi Thank you for the awesome reviews. I had an evo FST 5'3 for 2 years
and loved it until it clean snapped under the lip of a Oaxaca barrell.
Living in Texas I travel to surf so I need a versatile board that works
in waves ranging from windswells in the Gulf Coast, to California and
perfect barrels back home in Mexico. Now I am shopping for a new board,
not sure whether to go for the SKX or another EVO.. I really like that
it's available in the Timbertek construction too. Thoughts on FST vs
Timbertek?

Depends on where you are travelling and your approach. For me it would be close between and SKX or OMNI

I do prefer polyester boards instad of some of the light epoxy boards in choppy or windy conditions since epoxy feels too light, but great when it is cleaner. By the way since you are talking about timbertek EVO, do you think a 5'4 EVO would be a good or perhaps too much volume? I am 5'4, 144lbs (65kgs) and 43 yrs old, lower intermediate

Yeah LFT, so for a one boardquiver board traveling to surf average - overhead barrels what would be your pick?

Hi Do you mean an LFT EVO? Only the kite version was made in FST. I think the EVO is still one of the most versatile boards you can buy. SKX almost a step up to the EVO. Or a daily board for better waves. Also Timbertek EVO is a bit stiffer and we think tends to push through chop a bit better than LFT. A great choice if you surf more wind affected conditions
