you've got a great setup. I envy that. Really perfect. I wonder if your parents made you do it so legal or if you just decided to do that yourself. My two are not even close to legal and most of the people I know out here in FL don't have legal shit. Nor anything that nice and reliable. We rely heavily on boats like this to tender to the boats we live on, and anything like this would be the envy of the anchorages. So many backups, even a trolling motor if need be. All you have to do is put a solar panel on it to charge your battery and youve got a perfect boat. Nice job.

Love the setup have one of my own I'm 12 by the way I'm rocking a custom flat bottom canoe with 3 rows and not a () at the back but a --- so I can hook up a trolling motor but the front has a () to it if you know what I mean the way the other canoes are made I am right now trying to upgrade to a 2 or 4hp outboard but right now u have a 5-3 speed min Kota reverse and forward 65lb thrust and the middle row had a swivel seat which has been moved to the front so 2 swivel seats and in the middle now I have a drilled in frabill minnow box type thing with airater which I use bass fishing sometimes and a battery for the trolling motor and 4 bass pro rod holders It works perfect I love my setup but going to try to get a used boat like yours and convert it to a bass boat

Will your boat get too hot when you fish in the summer? I heard aluminum boat tend to get really hot if it is not carpeted. Also what vehicle do you use to tow a boat this size?

Of all the aluminum boat conversions here on youtube----yours is by far the best..!! Because----yours is the simplest, functional and least expensive.. Yet, you've done everything to yours that all of the other guys have and have haven't spent weeks, months, years doing it..!! Your on the water fishing while they're still fixing up and renovating their boats..

Definately. I have a 10hp motor that pushes my 14 Jon boat with 3 people at a good clip. You'll get plenty of speed with a 20hp motor. just make sure to have some weight on the front of the boat when you start accelerating because with a 20hp on a 12 foot boat you could lift the front way up

I watched this video, and your videos on your lighting & trailer mods... and I gotta tell ya... very nice Jon boat setup. It's awesome to see someone of your age take so much pride in something like this. So many don't in this day & age.

The only suggestion I would offer (as others have) is, move the battery away from the gas tank. Just out of safety, my man.

Lastly, much respect for the '58 Evinrude you're running. In fact... if it were me, I'd buy another motor to use. You may very well be sitting on a gold mine with that motor, in another 10 years. I'm just saying.

My fish finder transducer is mounted onto the bottom of my trolling motor with zip ties keeping the cords against the length of the trolling motor. I plug my fish finder straight into my 12 vault trolling battery with the pos/neg leads. The actually display for the fish finder I just attached it to a thin board so I can set it where ever on the back of the boat. So my fish finder display isn't permanently attached to the boat (just on a board which I can set in my lap or lay against the side of the boat). There's probably better ways to mount the fish finder, but this works for me haha. Hope this helps!

We could lift it up but it would challenging. I've lifted the boat with the help of 1 other and its definitely doable for us, but if you lift wrong you can hurt your back. I'm not sure a 14ft aluminum boat would fit in the back of a truck but I've never tried. A 10ft-12 ft boat might and it'd be lighter but then it gets bounced around more on the water. If you're thinking of buying a boat, ask the owners if you can come out and look at it and see if you can lift it with a buddy.
