Lil Yachty "Lil Boat" Review

Welcome to another episode of Out Of My Element. So first things first. The album that got the most votes was Neutral Milk Hotel's "In The Aeroplane Over The Sea." I vetoed this album because it doesn't fit the criteria. I already know that album well and love it. So there was no point in me reviewing it. The purpose of this series is for me to listen to albums I'm not familiar with. Albums that I would, otherwise, not listen to. So the album with the second most votes was "Lil Boat" by Lil Yachty. So...yeah...here's my review. it's a mixtape of one of the fastest rapper I've ever heard in my life. I think you might genuinely like it.
listin to disgusting kaancepts it's a single that's pure fire, he has a remix with logic, or lonely a more upbeat happy track.
its way better and ill think you'll like it or vibe
MYKE I NEED YOU TO SEE THIS
IVE KNOWN ABOUT THE ALBUM BUT HADN'T REALLY DIVED INTO IT
LAST WEEK I TRIED IT OUT AGAIN AND THE SHIT CLICKED FOR SOME REASON
I FREAKING CRIED HILARIOUS
Yeah Im totally defendin Yatchy. I got All his mixtapes, me and friends sip this purple stuff, smoke overly priced backwoods and drive slow down our suburban streets late night looking for Lana Del rays ( Tho we usually settle for Slightly fat white chicks who spell thick with no k and an extra c because black girls do it) to pretend to be druv dealers around in the vague chance it covers up the fact we are upper middle class kids. Tho our 1 black friend is good at that one dance, so we do pretty well. I also wear those pants that taper at the knees. and strickly rock adjustable polo dad hats. because Im unique and my style is rare. Look my shirt has a curse word on it.
But you really should listen to more Young Thug. I was surprised you haven't listened to a song by him. He really is an innovator. There's a good chance he'll be looked back at as the prince of our times (much to the chagrin of "conscious" hip hop fans, no doubt). But his flows are really ridiculous and there really isn't another rapper like him that uses their voice so versatilely.
If you're expecting fist in the air, face crunching lyricism, you're gonna be disappointed (although he does have some very strange, funny one liners). But that's the beauty about hip hop. There are many kinds.
Edit: just read the description. Jeffrey doesn't really have any amazing tracks imo, but looks like I'll get my wish.
But for real tho, I know I'll get hate for this, but Lil Yachty's album was fun to listen to for the same reason Lil B's albums are fun to listen to. IDK if I'd give it a 7/10 like Fantano did, but if you want to hear some fun Hip-Hop that's just mindless and unabashedly corny, I think this is a go to album. For anyone to judge this album on Yachty's rapping skill, or clever lyrics, or depth just completely misses the point. It'd be like someone judging Weird Al by the same standards.
(note: I enjoy it nonetheless)
JMSN - It Is
Please lord do it.
I like Yacthy... sue me.
The definitive ranking of Thuggas projects
why the audio kinda weird tho?
Just because country artists and some rockstars both sing doesn't mean they're in the same category. I would argue that trap generally is its own thing despite having hip hop origins.
Well, maybe if you compare it to Squiward's clarinet.
I hope so, can't wait!
It's kinda punk lol. It's short, got a CRAZY instrumental, and Yachty LEGITIMATELY kills it(flow-wise anyways)
COLD LIKE MINNESOTA
COLD LIKE MINNESOTA
of it is I'm tryna getone of those
your fucking profile picture.
i'm crying lmao
Future - 17 tracks of the more old future. strictly trap stuff. consistent but expected.
Hndrxx - 17 tracks where he goes back to his Pluto roots and grows 10x more. Way more personal, sentimental, also lyrically more diverse. (although Future is not a lyrical rapper) Production and engineering on this one is top notch. Future can carry songs like these without features and he does it effortlessly. Also the song with your bro Weeknd is godfuckingtastic lol.
Also I remember you said in a review you want to listen to a full length Thugger project. So I'm not sure if you should do that sometime in the future or if you should wait for his upcoming album and do that. After listening to Hndrxx I want Thugger to come out with something really crazy. His potential is imo bigger than Future as in he's one of the few artists you really don't know what to expect. I mean who expected something like Harambe lol. The way he uses his voice as an instrument is unmatched.
edit: lmao the reaction to yachty. priceless.
Myke gets to bleed from his ears like I have!
