The Evil Twin is a good time. Multiple fin setup options like twin fin, twin fin + trailer (2+1), single fin, single fin + side bites, and thruster. Each of these fin setups offer a different sensation under foot and they draw their own unique lines. I spent the majority of my time riding the Evil Twin purely as a twin fin with no trailer and it did NOT disappoint. The board was very fast and responsive and I enjoyed it in 1-5’ surf. I also rode it a bunch with a 2+1 setup which offered more stability and better pivot from the small trailer fin the board comes with. I surfed one session on the Evil Twin with the 6.5” Single Fin that comes with the board. I found the board to be a bit tighter and slower compared to the twin fin and 2+1 setup. I also need to mention that the single fin session was my first time ever riding a single fin. I am intrigued with the different feel underfoot the single fin offered and I hope to get a few more session on it this Summer. Nate Yeomans on the other hand was ripping hard on the Evil Twin with the 2+1 setup and single fin option. He mentioned that he enjoyed the Evil Twin most with the 2+1 setup using the T1’s by Futures Fins along with the custom trailer that comes with the board when purchased. My twin fins of choice for the Evil Twin are below. Twin Fins with control: Futures Fins AMK (Al Merrick Keels) Twin Fins Performance: Futures Fins Akila Aipa Twin Fin with Provided Custom Trailer (2+1) All sets made by Futures Fins: T1’s Akila Aipa Machado Twin My Height: 5’9” My Weight: 160 lbs or 72.5 kg Board Dims: Stock 5’4” x 19 x 2.30 Liters 26.50 Nate’s Height: 6’0” Weight: 180 lbs or 81.64 kg Board Dims: Stock 5’8” x 20 x 2.40 Liters 31
May I ask as I am a bit bigger surfer 190-195 lbs I notice that this kind of boards they usually have too thick rails for my taste, can you tell me if these rails are slimmed down? And am I supposed to go larger in this model when my normal shortboard volume is around 33,5 - 34 l?

I’ve been riding the neckbeard 2 in spinetek and can’t believe how much it’s brought back the inner grom. I’ve been surfing for 30+ years and wish I had the choice of boards we have now as I grew up.
So much easier to surf then what we were surfing in the nineties.
Just wondering if you’ll be doing a review on the Happy’ anytime soon.
Yes I plan on doing the Happy review. I got two... one Squash Tail and one Swallow Tail. We’ve started shootings already but it’s going to be a little while before that review is done.
