Nate and I enjoy good conversation around the attributes of the Retro Fish and our experiences riding this model in two different constructions with multiple fin set ups. The Retro Fish is very versatile and goes GOOD in 1-4’ surf with multiple fin configurations. The PU construction gives it that classic retro fish vibe feeling solid on big carves and down the line speed. Nate and I also talk about Lost’s new construction called C4 that has an EPS foam core with a thin layer of Cork covering the entire deck. This layer of cork acts as a dampener to reduce chatter, and strengthen the deck to extend the life of the board. The C4 construction has a livelier feel due to its EPS foam core. Nate and I both agree that it gives the Retro Fish a more performance feel compared to the PU adding a bit of flare or X Factor in every turn. The Lost Retro Fish is a really fun board and I highly recommend it for surfers that range from beginners to the advanced levels. I was wondering if you had ever try the lost EZ up model?
I'm about to buy a second hand but i'm not finding reviews not sponsored by the brand and i wanted to know your thoughts about this shape? :) it's a 5.10 for 34 litters and i'm 1m88 for 82 kilos and i'm looking for a "one board quiver". I have an intermediate level
Also i wanted to know: when you choose a board, for the floatability you look up first the volume (i've read around 0.40 litters for each kilograms you weight if you are intermediate), but for the length is it only feeling/comfort matter or what?
I hope it wasnt too painfull for you to read this, english is not my native language
I have not tried that model sorry.
Just a question: when you used the twin setup, did you put those fins in the forward slots or in the back ones?

Cheers Noel for the continued solid board reviews
I just started working with Xanadu on some board reviews. He sent me a couple boards for review and we’re dropping that review soon. Hopefully he will send more board models. Cheers
Has Chad at Patagonia in Encinitas asked u to review the Rasta Twin? He said he would. Ive also had my eye on that. Ithink it's called Torus
Oh well....plenty of other boards in the sea to review
Gary Mcneill
I believe he is David Rastovich's main shaper. There are a couple yt vids where he explains their partnership and unique designs using unique materials.
I've held the Torus in my hands a few times. It just has that incredible feel of craftsmanship and shredability. Inspired by George Greenough bottom I believe. Also Pategonia says they're selling like crazy. Mcneilhttps://www.instagram.com/garymcneillconcepts/?hl=en
The CI Twin is a really fun board but it has small center fin so it has a little something to pivot off of and it has a bit more High Performance feeling because of it.
This Retro Fish goes really good as a Quad.... you can really push hard on your turns and it has incredible hold.
I have not heard from anyone on a request for the Rastavich Twin. Sounds fun to me... who shapes that board?
The Retro Fish as a Quad is epic... fast, responsive, and good traction. I could push hard on my turns as a Quad. Using the Keel fins as a Twin Fin was next level fun for me. Good traction and really fun.
The Retro Fish is really versatile and easier to surf and you can run all kinds of fin set ups too. Cheers

Awesome review again have not missed one yet, not for this board but just wondering l don’t think l have seen you in a review with the Julian Wilson fin from FCS, any particular reason?
Keep up the great work my credit card provider loves you!
P.S. any chance of a review on the lost beach buggy 2?
Epic board reviews too!!
The Gremlin is a high performance Groveler... pocket surfing, carves, airs, etc....
The Retro Fish has great maneuverability rail to rail but it’s not really designed for pocket surfing. Most fishes aren’t.

Where you using the HS quad trailers with the HS large fronts, please?
Sick review as always, also cool to see guests on the show.
I am heading into the West Aus summer and need a small wave/grovel board. I am tossing up between the RNF Retro and the Pyzel Gremlin. The fact you can surf the RNF Retro as a twin is also super appealing but not sure it would be as user friendly/versatile as the Gremlin? Would love to hear your thoughts.
Keep up the good work legend!
For me this Retro Fish was very easy to surf and had excellent traction as a Quad. It also had great traction with the CI Keel fins but it was a bit out of control with the Rasta Twin set up.
The GO Fish was difficult for me to surf at first but front side I felt like I was starting to figure it out. Back side I couldn’t stop it from sliding out on my turns. I think if I spent more time on the GO Fish I would really enjoy surfing it.
Between these two boards as twin fins the Retro Fish was easier for me to surf.
