Ian Reviews the Pyzel Ghost surfboard: https://www.boardshop.co.uk/brands/pyzel-surfboards?style=1928 The Pyzel Ghost has been John John Florence's go-to shortboard for pretty much any decent waves encountered on the tour and is the magic stick he rode to his second World Title! Pyzel's Ghost might be John John's 'go-to hack' but it would make a great daily driver or travel board for any competent shortboarder for decent to very good waves at home and overseas. Initially designed to tackle powerful and hollow waves, the Ghost has proven to be comfortable in anything from offshore reefs to heavy beachies and point-breaks. The Ghost was loosely based on the Short Cut with a fine tuned outline but still the wide point forward and a narrower nose and refined tail to help it fit into barrels and carve turns at speed. The rocker all makes perfect sense, low through the front half for early wave entry and speed and a much more pronounced curve in the tail easing snappy turns and pocket surfing performance. Speed and lift are achieved with a full length single concave with a double concave inside. This combination of rocker and bottom contours results in a high performance surfboard with plenty of sensitivity along with a predictable level of control.
