Just purchased one of these for my son,in the manual it says the light will go green on the charger when its fully charged,but i,ve only got a usb charger with no light on it,is this right mate ?

The LEDs on these cheap chargers can be pretty iffy. Maybe the LED on yours is broken, or maybe the entire charger is. These batteries can be a fire hazard, so I would suggest not messing with a possibly defective charger. I would contact the seller of the boat about a replacement charger, or find one online. I would suggest buying a real hobby-grade charger, but the plug type on this battery is not common, which makes it hard to find the proper cables to charge it with a hobby-grade charger.

Seriously??! Lipo and li-ion are very diffrent.. This li-ion is somewhere between 5-10C maybe? at best? But in 30C lipo and tell me its not noticably faster :P Theres many many diffrences between lipo and li-ion... Dunno how good esc it has thou, 30C lipo may end up with burning esc, lol.

oh! sorry, i meant to ask, i have a spare ft009 pistol style remote,ould i be able to bind that to this boat easily? or would i have to stick with that rather unfamiliar flight controller type?

My problem is we bought two of them and one control makes both go. So we can't race each other. Any suggestions on how to pair them separate to have both remote controls working and not just one for two boats.

They should sync separately. Turn on one boat and controller first, and let them sync. Then do the next boat/controller. If you turn on both boats/controllers at the same time, I suppose that could allow one controller to bind to both boats. But if you do them one at a time, there should be no issue.

I believe the FT009 slows down when the battery is about to die.

Flyin' Ryan RC is it purely because of the remote? I like the low voltage feature the h101 has, as it tells you to come back to shore. I don't think the ft009 has that. That's what's making me lean more towards the h101.

I prefer the FT009. I suppose the biggest difference to consider is the controller.

Loving your videos. Started off with your quadcopter ones. Great value. Thanks! What budget RC boat would you recommend for a beginner child? Looking for something that won't flip much at all. I like this H101, but would prefer I teach my kids with a traditional boat transmitter as opposed to this quad style one. Looking forward to you response. Thanks Ryan.

Check out the Feilun FT009. It's a great boat... it was my first. It is a lot like this boat, but with a traditional ground vehicle controllers.

just got this boat last night. I have not ran it yet however the latch that holds the top lid on already broke. does anyone know how to get a replacement lid of how to modify the one that came with it so it will lock down tight?

It's probably pretty unlikely that you'll find spare parts for this boat, but there is a thing called "hatch tape" which you may be able to use to tape the boat closed. http://amzn.to/2sivDKN

UDI001 just arrived today!! gave it a run at most of the time full throttle jumpin' waves
and got ehh about 10-11 and a half minutes

considering the self righting function relies on the inertia/torque of the motor, i'm thinking that because it is brushed maybe there's not enough inertia/torque for it to work as well as a brushless motor. just a thought. thanks for the vids.

Nah, cause I've reviewed a few other brushed boats that self-right very quickly. I really think it was mostly due to the choppy water. :)

on the Tide Breaker, the self flipping works. slight gas then brake and it's back!

I'm sad about this boat. I lost connection to my tx while it was pretty much right there in front of me. I put it down on the ground to do something real quick on my phone, went back to it, and the boat just didn't respond. After doing everything and pressing buttons, it just wouldn't get connection back... now it's stuck in the middle of the lake where it drifted away to. -_-

I believe the connector is the same as the one on the JJRC H26 and it's 2S as well so I think it's directly compatible.

Ya now that one blows the yellow one out of the water, pun intended. With that kind of speed you must have to have a large area to really get it going. It would be cool if you had like a receiver for it attached to a FPV drone and control the boat in a lake from the drone while your flier follows it and keeps it in range.

Nice review Ryan. Looks like you've found some serious Feilun 009 competition.
Can't say I'm too high on the fly-Tx, but that's easily remedied.
I took my 009 into the So Cal waves, if the self-righting were that clumsy, the 009 would be gone, LOL.

Nice, looks a little easier than planes. I have spent more than $400.00 on 4-micro planes & 2 of them flew away & never found neither-one. The 2 that flew away, were both the: Sport Cub S with S.A.F.E. The other 2, need repair's. A Champ & Parkzone Ultra Micro P-51D Mustang. All this in 1 month of trying too teach myself to fly.

Yeah, I was very impressed by how smooth this thing was in that choppy water. My FT011 review comes out today, btw. It was filmed on the same day as this one, and the FT011 was much more bouncy in that choppy water.
