Harrison Farley Fever suits my home Breaks better. Fever has a little less rocker so it seems to carry more speed.

Amazing review. Long time viewer. If I may make a suggestion on sunscreen. Try the Non nano particulate all natural sunscreen called AVASOL. I believe it’s made in Santa Barbara, Ca. I use it exclusively, in he dark stick form. Works so good. And I’m a ginger!!!! So it has saved me from sun burns on long 4 hour + sessions

Really looking forward to this Noel. I surfed the Austin wave multiple times but on rented gear and definitely was missing my boards! The Austin wave is much much longer and didn't quite feel like the ocean -- felt like you were skipping across a fire hydrant going off under your feet for lack of a better description. I felt like speed was crucial as you'd get left behind fast if you wanted to do any turns. Also the takeoff is easy to miss unless you're a boss paddler, especially if you're picking up waves that people fall on and you're not already in the best takeoff position. I'm in Austin regularly so one time I'll bring boards and I'll focus probably on extra volume and low rocker and run it with a twin plus small trailer... In my mind it's all about having speed to burn much more than I need in the ocean. And generating your own speed didn't work the same way either... Pumping felt different with how the water was moving under foot so I couldn't get the same squirt I'm used to. Maybe Waco is totally different but I'd think the public session will be more similar to Austin so I'd suggest speed as top priority. Have a great time and looking forward to the results. My money's on the Astropop and the Aipa :)

Looking forward to watching. I had a chance to hit Waco in June. Surfed on a Neck beard. Wish I played with some fins. Ended up riding bigger vert fins. I like the vert fin on bigger head high ocean swell but smaller fins would have been better in the pool. Did not think about it till I saw photos of my turns. Guess I have to go back this Fall. See you in the water.

Can't wait for this! I am headed to BSR on August 9th! Trying to figure out whether to get the Neckbeard 2 or Uber XL. I test rode the Uber XL and what a fun board. Paddles and surfs well. I have not tried the NB2 yet but love the speed and vertical lines this board seems capable of. I'd love to see the NB2 in your quiver for BSR. What are your thoughts between those two boards Noel?

Jason G NB2 and UD XL will go excellent at BSR! I think the NB2 could be a little faster but the UD XL has better hold off the bottom. Both boards are mental

Lge carbon Reactors go sick in the Spine Tek Happy in FCS 2. I also like the both medium and Lge Am fins.
I surfed both the Lge Am PC and the Lge Carbon Reactors fins in the last big swell at Snapper and they both went sick. Leaning toward the Reactors though. Board felt nice and free but also great control with those.
Like anything though, both have their positives and negatives.
I prefer the Aircore medium Am’s or Lge Carbon Reactors in beach breaks though to get more in the pocket.
The Happy is one of my most favourite high performance boards I’ve ever surfed, and I’ve surfed a lot haha.

This is such a good idea! I drove to BSR from SD and took 3 surfboards with me, I ended up using my JS Monstabox Round Pin ( I took Lost V3 Stealth and JS Psycho Nitro) for Advanced waves. I had 4 x 2 hour sessions, it took a while for me to finally figure it out! Can't wait to see your review and observation on BSR.
