After watchin this for the second time a year later, I understand the enjoyment this boat gave you. I'm a fan. My son and I are fishing together now. But, I will say I had a serious injury when I fell off the front deck. Without getting into all the drama and details, I was unable to walk or go fishing for nearly 8 months. I'm an old guy. Anyway...the 40 horse is plenty for this boat but the front casting deck needs some improvement. Your assessment of the limitations of turning radius are spot on. If you want a speed boat, this is not your boat. Buy something else.

how well does the live well work on the heritage? Never had one before on a boat any advice? also have never used a foot controlled trolling motor, was it easy to operate

I honestly have not tried the live well yet but it seems pretty simple. The trolling motor is very easy once you get used to the motion and arrow indicator on top of the motor head.

The Dowco cover that comes with the Heritage, IMHO, is awesome. Does not seem cheap at all. Very heavy duty.

Are you talking about the dowco cover or the seat covers, at any rate the seat covers feel great and no issue there. The boat cover I have not removed from the box so I am not sure. This boat will live in a garage so I am not worried about that cover is for sale if anyone wants it.

It would be tight to have everyone on the casting decks, but there is ample room between them to fish, my kids are 6 and 9 I feel there is plenty of room for them.

Mark, before you put too many hours on the engine you should checkout this video on Mercury Marine's Vessel View Mobile - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSg3fH9_ZwY . For $275 you get a bluetooth module to attach to the outboard and then you'll have all of the data you could possibly need (coolant temp, battery voltage, fuel consumption rate, engine hours, maintenance, engine warnings, and the list goes on). As soon as I get the call that it's coming I'm placing the order for it.
