Tracker Jon Boat Review

Bought a brand new 2013 1436 Tracker Jon Boat. My experience with this Company has been less than favorable. At this time this company has not stood behind their product. This may be helpful for considering this type of boat. The price may be attractive, but the features may fall short for any type of fishing or serious use.
Cheap is what you paid for cheap is what you got. And many people say I am nuts because I HAVE NEVER AND WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING off the net that I can not see and touch first. AT least a exact Copy of what is being sold... I have been watching a lot of different reviews etc. as I am planning on getting a JB probably in Dec when I move from Ca. To Texas... To many even on Crags ist seem to think their boat is new as most are asking the same of almost the same price that can be spent on a new one... They think by adding a 800 dollar motor it makes it worth a extra 15,000 bucks... They are nuts... but I know... there are lot who will say its a match and they just rather buy a used, banged up 900 dollar boat with a used motor worth about 500 bucks for 2 grand because they are including a 200 dollar trailer... MOST arent smart enough to ask about title for boat and motor and trailer which is required at many places...

Him saying that the transom is too thin is ridiculous. It has three different middle interior supports. Just because the motor dug into his plywood on the inside of the boat does not mean you have to replace the plywood. He clearly has no idea what he's talking about. And the fact he's complaining that some of the paint chipped off on the back part of the transom where the motor has been. OMG. Try tightening down the motor more so it will not slide around. This is ridiculous

A boat is much different from buying a bicycle and going for a ride in the park.

Since the Alumacraft is only $70 more, I would highly steer you that direction. Tracker is owned by Bass Pro, and my drawn out experience with customer service was horrible. When you do get thru to the phone jockeys, it is pretty clear they do not know their product. It feels very corporate and not personal. We are not talking Apple here. I am only expressing here my experience. I am sure the paint job alone would be worth it. Good luck!
My next boat will not be from a large company with litterally no CS experience behind the phones. I am buying locally from a boat manufacture with a owner that has decades of experience in the water fishing. The owner even offerred to drive a demo boat hours to my home river prior to buying and is truely interested in our needs and conditions.

Lessons learned the hard way can be expensive, but you don't soon forget them!
I can get a Alumacraft 1436 instead (which is better from what I understand) but the dealer is three times the distance (550km) to the Tracker dealer.
Thanks for your reply.
I sorted transport out and ordered a Alumacraft 1436 instead.
