It sound like some are happy with this about I must be the only one to get a dud my boat is 5 years old and is full of pin holes I have 4 pop rivets in it I rang quintrex and of course they put all the problems with this boat back on me. I explained that I have owned 2 aluminium boats before Savage / stacer and never had a problem with them and they were second hand boats when I purchased them my Quintrex 375 dart I purchased brand new and this boat is a dud I think the aluminium they used on this particular boat is of a very low quality I am going to get the aluminium tested at my expense as I am sure that they used inferior aluminium on this boat I'm from Melbourne and use this boat in salt water any comment that may help get to the bottom of problem is welcomed

Quintrex is right when they say its your fault. Have a google and look at the reaction of aluminium boat hulls and lead sinkers bring dropped on the floor while in salt water.

We think E-Tecs are better and the 30 HP E-tec is a hot little engine.

I have one of these little guys , bought it in 2006 lives in salt water on Cape Cod . Runs great with her 30 hp Evinrude . Best tin skiff Iv'e ever used . Great handling smooth ride and super stable at rest , fears no sea . Too bad you can't buy them in the U.S. anymore .

+Troy With the way the industry is so regulated, to upgrade the transom for a bigger engine requires an engineer's report. It's a far cheaper exercise in either buying a boat with the engine size you want, or getting an engine that has been down graded ..... For instance if the boat is only rated to 40HP the 40HP E-Tec is the same unit as the 50HP E-Tec with the only changes to the ECU mapping and a couple of other very minor physical changes. Do your homework and you'll soon
see there are a world of options for you.

@hornyboii Gibson Yes you can, the 6Hp is a great kids boat, or fantastic for getting about on calm waters

Just bought my second Quintrex 375 Dart. A great little boat. I like it above most other 12 footers because they're much wider and deeper, allowing me to go places other 12 footers would struggle.
