It is a 68' Commercial fishing boat. It has three separate holding tanks for fish, crab, shrimp, oyster, you name it. All of easily accessible. It is a little dirty and needs to be cleaned up but is a good tight boat that will clean up nicely. It has a huge Catepillar Diesel engine in it and I go down in the compartment and show you everything. Also has a Isuzu engine and generator that is a 3 cycle and puts out 25K. In the cabin you have all your boat controls, electronics, compass, and everything else you could need. It has 3 bunks or beds for the crew. It also has a full living area with dining table, refrigerator, stove, microwave, and sink. This but is set up and ready to go. Piece of JUNK. You cannot fish with it because it is a buy back. Would cost hundreds of thousands to turn it into a houseboat. Even the engine is wrong for a houseboat. Personally I would not take it if they gave it to me.

I wish I could find one here on this coast....North Carolina.. I'd sand blast the holds and build them into storage and parts and shop rooms build a cabin and sundeck on the back. Abb sound proofing around the engine. Dress up the wiring. And travel to my hearts content! But I bet there is a huge price tag on it and then I'd have to go through the Panama canal to get it here. I love it though.

Looks like a neat boat. Needs a lot of work. Put it in the yards, cut out the fish tanks, put in some cabins, take a hard look at the "big old Cat" and you will have a nice rig. In the Navy we figured anything that you can pick up and put on a ship is a boat. I was a diesel mechanic (Enginemen) and ran "small boats". The longest was 65 feet with a "big old" 6110 Detroit. I can verify that it could take 45 degree rolls and not roll over!

Sorry if I came off the wrong way with that comment. Though, given that no one knows who bought the boat I don't believe there would be any confidentiality breech at hand here. It's not unusual for people to look at what a product recently sold for at one place, in order to evaluate deals elsewhere. Checking out prices at staples before Bestbuy, and all that. You could have just said "Generally a boat like this sells from xxxxxx to xxxxxxxx, if that's what you want to know". Unless you feel you overcharged the guy I see no reason to be defensive.

This boat cannot Legally fish comercially in the us at all, You said the government paid the first owner a million bucks to quit, Actually the government did a buy back on alot of permits to reduce the fleet, unless the boat is used as a rec boat, its absoutly useless. Do your research, and find out what permits are avaliable for the boat if any at all. I fished out of westport for 30 years, I know what i am talkin about.
