To make any natural fabric extremely hydrophobic, mix 20 parts white spirit (mineral spirit) to 1 part silicone RTV and soak the fabric. You'd have to experiment with synthetic fabrics, I haven't tried them.

Those RJ45 cable crimper kits are very cheap but a very important part you missed is they come with a cable tester so you can confirm your new connections are fine, many times they appear to be and they're not and especially using it for nav aid equipment, priceless bit of cheap kit, cheers from AUS

Thanks for another great video Stu and Zaya. This one is packed full of odd glimpses and angles of Luckyfish that we wouldn't usually see. It is bound to get several watches from me. How has that crack repair that you attended to in St Helena holding up?

Hi guys. Seeing you cut the machine screws reminded me of a trick a great machinist taught me years ago. This works for stainless best. After tightening down the nut grab the extra threaded screw with a vice grip pliers and wiggle it back and forth just a few degrees. Soon the metal fatigue will break it off just at the nut. Fast, easy, and clean! Thanks Bert.
