This should be useful for anyone who needs a better understanding of how to sail. We'll look at: points of sail mainsheet position traveller position how to use telltales downwind sailing angles (no spinnaker) The Hobie 16 revolutionized multihull sailing. The Hobie 16 was unleashed on the Southern California beach scene in 1970 and sailing was instantly transformed. The beach-launched Hobie 16 brought the sport to legions of speed-loving sailors. The catamaran’s lightweight, asymmetrical fiberglass hulls provide lift and its dual-trapeze rig lets you and your crew member harness its sheer power. Now, 45 years and over 100,000 boats later, the Hobie 16 occupies a coveted spot in the Sailboat Hall of Fame and consistently delivers big-grin sailing and world-class racing. Fly a hull and you’ll understand the global obsession! Since the late eighties, Wildwind has gained a reputation as one of the best sailing holiday companies in the world. Our flagship centre in Vassiliki, Greece, has been running since 1987 and runs strong on the extremely high number of repeat visitors who come back year after year. Since 2014, Wildwind also offers sailing holidays in Mont Choisy, on the tropical Indian Ocean island of Mauritius, offering sailing holidays all year round. Our fleet includes everything from simple beginner boats (such as Laser Bugs and RS Quba’s), right through to extreme performance equipment: 49er, RS 800, SB3, Tornado, F18 Hobie Tigers and pretty much everything in between. Whatever your skill level or sailing ambition, we’ll always have the right equipment for you. Wildwind is an RYA recognised centre but, unlike many sailing holiday centres, we offer the entire range of dinghy and multihull courses at no extra charge. When you arrive, just let us know that you are keen. Our instructors are a standard above everyone else: most have a serious racing pedigree and some have even won national championships. You can join in special training weeks at the beginning of the season with Olympic coaches. Ask anyone in the sailing business where they would like to go on a beach based sailing holiday and you'll find that Wildwind's name comes up over and over again. Great Tutorial, big thumbs up
100kg - 24knots
80kg - 20knots
60kg - 17knots
so in 24 knots of wind, fully depowered a 100kg sailor can still properly sail the 16.

I prefer bits of tape - cheaper! I'm used to them now and they give me all of the information i need, nothing against something like a Hawk wind indicator though - much more accurate - if you can see that far.
Also,do you prefer tell tails (lol, I ironically called them tales before, the should never tell tales:) to a wind vain ? Having some sort of wind direction device while shooting your videos would be great but the location could prove to be challenging .
I'll be making a video on this soon.
I'm a massive Hobie fan so i'd say go Hobie every time if you can!
