Yes of course it must be terrible to lose everything. But the fact they had been at sea less than 48 hours before sinking kind of has alarm bells ringing for me. And not the type you hear when you're taking on water

there are a lot of youtube channels these days involving young couples cruising on sailboats in the Caribbean. most of them talk little about seamanship and emphasize the romance of it all. it's much more dangerous than it appears. extensive technical knowledge of the sea and the boat are paramount for a safe journey.
