The camera is perpendicular to the rope, is that possible to make parallel ?
I'd like to attach a gopro to a rope that is attached an anchor and a buoy is order to film under water.

not if you had the rope on a pulley system so you could have a moving shot, or a shot that you can change simply by pulling the rope... Or u could just take the end of the rope and swing it around like mad and get some cool footage

What you need to take into consideration is that the rope actually twists alot when climbing. I didn't even see this video before trying a rope mount with my contour cam, but what you need are some stabilizers that allow the camera to roll up the rock face when climbing.

Has anybody found a video of this mounted to a toprope in climbing? I see 2000 shaky videos of helmet cams while climbing, but I think this perspective would be a lot cooler (either mounted right at the harness pointed up, or mounted 3 feet above the climber on the toprope, pointed down, obviously removed before reaching the anchor.)

When using the ties, having been cut with a wire cutting tool, the ties are extremely sharp and will slice you right open. Tie wrap makes an inexpensive tightening/snipping tool which eliminates this problem. Should be available at HD, LOwes or Graybar. No sharp edges on the boat...blood stains the fiberglass.

That is really weird, I have not ever seen that problem before. The only way I can think of fixing it would be by turning off ProTune.

I am not totally sure, but putting it on a rope swing come to mind. The rope in the video is a old main halyard off of a sail boat.

Great idea with the zip ties! I've made a rope mount before but just packed the handlebar mount with inner tube rubber until it was snug, zip ties looks easier. If anyone wants to see what the footage from the rope mount looks like go to my channel, video is entitled "The Kids Summer 2012" :)
