Great work! Just one really strong suggestion. Get rid of the carabiners on the trailer safety chains especially and on the boat safety chain. Got to harbor freight or tractor supply or similar and get the correct fitting for boat chain. Just bolt the trailer chain to trailer with grade 5 bolt nut and washers. Better yet use 2 bolts, one on each side.

You tease! Nice job btw! Can't wait to see the next vid. Just a tip to share, I always mount a tang of some sort at the masthead fly pointing aft then the windex on that. Allows me to see the vane better. Not that a true sailor even needs a windex but anything that helps right? Also, did you get a new jib or is that the same one? Looks good!

Awesome to see you getting to the water- I think mine is going to never leave my driveway. FYI, no one really uses telltales in the body of the main. The front third of the main is typically stalled anyway. For the main, you want telltales at the leach. The common place to put them is at the end of each batten pocket. You use them to see if you have the right amount of twist in the main, and of course, more flowing is more betterer. However, without a traveler, you won't necessarily be able to get them all flowing. But maybe you could with correct use of vang and main. Experiment; have fun with it. That's how you learn.

TBH, the best way for a cruiser to sail is to follow the old addage: "When in doubt, let it out." Let out your sails until they flap a little, then trim in until they stop flapping. When I'm not racing, that's all I ever do. Telltales are a waste of time for a cruiser. trim the jib properly first, then the main. Always front to back.

Also, remove your windex spinner when on the road. Or you'll inevitably end up donating it to the sailing gods somewhere along the highway.

+Paul Heitkemper thanks for the comment. For whatever reason the tells only showed a diagram of a jib, so I did the same for the main and then put a 4th in the lower - center. I have mostly used the "let it out and then trim in" method though, and it worked ok. That or I just adjusted the direction of the boat to get the wind over the sails right, combination of both seemed to work ok so far. I'm sure a day with some more wind I'll learn a little more.

Yes I noticed in one of your shots that the cabin is still basically gutted BUT winter is coming. Get yourself a good little heater and an extension cord. Get in there, button up the companionway and keep on working! With your industry and ingenuity you could be done by spring! Just keep the path shoveled and keep the drive to "get her done!" I'm back down on the Cape with two good work days ahead of me on board Little Girl.

+Lary Mayotte oh absolutely! I probably should also have mentioned different anchors for different situations too! These are just to drop while we have a snack or something. I'll also drop one on the stern while at the ramp to keep her ass from swinging towards shore. I would never leave it unattended on an anchor like that.

ya stuff on the bottom is always hard to retrieve an anchor for sure.....the thing I have against mushrooms is they are fine for small light boats, but with sailboats the tend to drag to much. Nothing worse than dropping anchor and going ashore only to come back and find the wind had picked up and your mushroom dragged and your boat is now in deep water and blown away!

+Lary Mayotte danforth do not cut it in the lakes around here. Too many stumps and logs and rocks and crap on the bottom. I have a bunch of anchors I use depending on the location, danforth is one of them but not for this lake.
