I never teach which way to move a tiller, only oh which way to send the boat. If you have a split second to make a decision, trying to remember the right rule for moving the tiller will delay you long enough to make the situation worse.

I thought you were going to show how to rig a boom preventer. In your experience is rigging a preventer a good idea, or more prone to produce accidents as the helmsman doesn't realize s/he is by the lee?
