I have used this knot all the time on my genoa and never knew it had a name. And, i have never had it slip in 20 years.

Thanks John, I agree 100 percent. The larks head isn't really a knot, which is exactly what you don't want as the Genoa overlaps the mast and must slide across it when tacking and jibing. Knots or clevises just add to the drag and inhibit the cross over, especially annoying in light winds. However they can be used on jibs with a shorter foot like the storm jib which is short enough to clear the mast while maneuvering.
