Good, informative video.  I'd love to do the Patreon thing, but I've found myself supporting too many great boating channels (have to cut back).  It's just getting to be too much.  I need to spend some bucks on my own boat, but really appreciate the effort you all put into filming, editing, and posting your videos and blogs.  Sorry, but just know that I appreciate your efforts (just not with $).  Ah hell, I'll throw in for a few bucks!.......

This is probably the best panama canal transit by sailboat video on Youtube! However you do not need the clickbait "SLV line handlers" title. That's probably why people are clicking thumbs down because the title is a bit of a... Trumpism.

Thanks for the complement. It's not clickbait if it is true. We did have Sailing La Vagabonde's line handlers. My wife and daughter's picture were on the thumbnail. How to transit the Panama canal without a caveat seemed a little presumptuous. Everything in the title was true, and the line handlers were discussed in minute 2-3 of the video or in the description. I have little patience for folks who are upset because they see what they get on the thumbnail and see what they are promised in the title.

Thanks interesting video of transit and plenty of info. I need to go back and watch white spot pirate transit as I think she went without an agent. I have been thru many locks in Northern Europe over the years , of course not as large as the Panama and never with line handlers.
I thought there was a small boat canal. Did they eliminate the small canal with the upgrade? Warren

+Slow Boat Sailing Your right Nikki has a different time schedule and different assets!. I would take your advise and use an agent! Cheers Warren

We're still waiting for Nike's transit video but she did a couple how-to's without an agent. She also did facebook live of her transit. Nike (White Spot Pirates) is on a pretty tight budget especially since her engine threw a rod. She speaks great Spanish. If you were a corrupt government official would you give Nike a hard time or a middle aged to late middle aged man who speaks poor Spanglish. Its a function of the time versus money you want to waste on the canal. The time commitment often can make the retired impatient. The "NEW" canal is only for biiiiiiiggg ships. Sailboats still use the old canal, which we were in. The old canal has two parallel chambers. The new one just has one.
