In August of 2017 I sold everything and moved aboard Balachandra, a 1986 C&C44 sailboat, then sailed it over 300 nautical miles to Halifax Nova Scotia to spend a cold Canadian winter in the frozen waters of the North Atlantic. Sailing Balachandra is my YouTube sailing vlog inspired by other great channels such as Delos and La Vagabonde, which documents the sailing adventures of myself and the occasional crewmembers(s) as we navigate the east coast of North America and beyond. I wonder if Rasberry Pi can be used with a traditional analog bilge alarm actuation then send it to your phone. Any ideas?

Two water circuits are much better and safer : to Y valves, no risk of contamination. Two taps, but only one foot pump for raw water with another tap combined with hand pump makes it more difficult to pump from sea water thus saving fresh water for drinking and some cooking…

Great points - I'd like to separate them. I put two valves on there so there's a lot less chance of contamination, plus I like the idea of being able to flush out the foot pump with fresh water periodically.

so I guess it doesn't get that cold in the winter where they are they don't take it out and that plastic wouldn't handle snow...

Why not just move down to Florida or at least to Virginia or North Carolina. Anything to get out of the freezing Russia like weather. I totally feel sorry for your guys having to live like that. Just leave already and you will never regret it.

I wish I could offer a website link or something - We found it at a store that was going out of business - not sure where they got it... I think it's meant for winter conditions/outdoor walkways

Never heard of the laptop wireless antennae booster, hope you can put a link in the next video. Not a sailor but the little town in Texas has junk wireless, could be just the trick for us locked on land with weak signals. Great video can't wait for the next one.

Just added the Link to the show notes - The brand is Wise Tiger. Ours works great. Remember that like all wifi the farther away you are the weaker the signal. We havn't had any problems up to 80 meters or so from the club.

Another hardware store option for clear tubes, are fluorescent tube protectors. Usually find them next to the full size (T-12?) 4' tubes.
