Hi Victor! Yes all is good! We are still in the Tuamotus and uploading is a real challenge. We have to sail to an atoll with internet as we have been anchored in more remote areas for awhile. Uploading as we speak...12 hours uploaded so far and we're at 17%... :) Let's see if we can get this one out in less than 3 days! Cheers! Nicole

Be gentle about your editing? How about this: The previous editor was a &*(^%$ idiot with no %*%^& idea about %$#)&^$ editing and should be hanged by the @^%!) until there is no possibility of ever ()^$&#_ ing another moment of their life! How's that? (you didn't say anything about being gentle to the previous editor) I hope you are both well (not much of Ryan in this episode), I have missed the fun from your channel. Sail on sailor.

Hey thanks MrSharkphoto! And yes, it was heavy on me. Provisioning day I usually go solo but if Ryan was around he would have for sure been filmed a lot. It's okay though...he gets plenty of shots taken of him on the water. ;) I challenged myself to create, film, and edit this whole story myself. Wanted to see if I could. :) Nicole

Please feel free to take this comment private if you can, I cannot figure out a way to. Please do not put electronic devices into your bra or swim top. Was that a remote that you stuck in your top?
The breast has a high level of biologic activity. The electro-magnetic fields given off by ALL radio and radio-like devices can cause cell damage/ precancerous or cancerous lesions. This radiation is diminished as a square of the distance away from the tissue. (That's why you can step 10 feet back from an X-ray when working in the ER or hospitals)
There is one oncologist in LA who has collected 4 cases of breast cancer from women who routinely stashed their cell phones in their bras. I can provide the reference if you need it. That is a significant concern. I am a physician and note your medical backgrounds.

I saw propane tanks in the truck. I've seen several channels having difficulty finding propane and/or compatible fittings which allow boat propane tanks to filled on land. Have you had issues finding it and or getting tanks filled? How did you resolve?
Two Afloat Sailing
Two Afloat Sailing - 6 years ago
Hi Steve. We actually arrived here with a US fitting and hose and bought a French fitting here which works perfectly. No problems refilling ourselves. And the bottles are in almost every store and gas station (if you can find one). Check out Gas Problem, one of our earlier episodes. We go searching to refill our tank and do it onboard. Cheers! :) Nicole

Awesome job for your first go at it! Love your alls channel. Thank you for your continued inspiration. I'm not sure if everyone's editing takes as long as mine does; but for me, it equals out to be about 30-45 minutes of editing per minute of video produced. Filming, sailing, provisioning, sailing, editing, and finding a little time to enjoy as your own is a lot of work! Keep it up! Ryan does an awesome job too!
Two Afloat Sailing
Two Afloat Sailing - 6 years ago
Thank you Rick for your feedback! Yes, editing seems like it takes forever! I think I edited for 4 days, 3-4 hours a day not including Ryan going in and doing the audio and coloring. It is a lot of work but so worth it in the end. Thanks for watching! :) Nicole

Wow, well done! I liked the vibrant tone of this video: Nicole's energy and passionate nature somehow permeates the editing. Also, getting to see your interactions with all the local people is nice. I have watched lots of "provisioning" videos from cruisers - can't say they're my favourites, although i understand that it is a significant part of life when cruising more remote areas. You managed to make this really interesting.
Two Afloat Sailing
Two Afloat Sailing - 6 years ago
I'm worried about that too! The not so smooth parts are rough spots and I've gone to the derm in Tahiti twice this past year for spots I didn't like. The last time I went he zapped about 25 spots with liquid nitrogen. Now I'm keeping an eye on a spot on my arm that doesn't look so friendly. :(
Lazy Jacques
Lazy Jacques - 6 years ago
Well, I'm thinking health-wise, not so much cosmetics - you're pretty attractive in my book! I have a good friend in Australia with your complexion who has been battling skin cancer. She's doing well, although she'll need some reconstructive surgery, but now I'm paranoid about skin damage... Please take as good care of yourself as you do of Ryan!
Two Afloat Sailing
Two Afloat Sailing - 6 years ago
:) Thank you for that. I promise I wear very large hats every time (except while kiteboarding) I go out in the sun...I even wear a visor while doing yoga on the foredeck. I just take it off while filming so my face isn't shadowed. :) But I know I should wear longer shirts...my shoulders are not smooth anymore. :(

If this was a new sailing channel, I would have subbed right away! You made going shopping as exciting as can be......but your last video was EPIC. That piece "There are forces in the universe that guide you if you let them........" It keeps coming back to me at random moments. It's not only Ryan that slaps him self at the start, but as a viewer you get HIT by a video as well. It has an impact. Hard to describe but it has a gentle brutal radical quality that sets you guys apart form all the other story telling sailing channels.

I rinse the lettuce and bok choy with fresh water. And I think I put closer to 2 tablespoons of bleach in for 3 gallons of water. If the produce has a strong scent of bleach because I put too much in then I will for sure rinse. Hope that helps. :) Nicole
SV GITANA
SV GITANA - 6 years ago
Two Afloat Sailing stupid question, do you rinse the veggies with fresh water when you take them out of the bucket that has the bleach and water or you just take them out and let them dry out?
Two Afloat Sailing
Two Afloat Sailing - 6 years ago
Just adding my 2c to Nic's reply... The bleach water helps kill the bacteria etc from the people handling the food, fertilizer (often stuff like ground up fish or bird poop), etc. We eat a lot of raw veggies so this is especially important and is a lesson we learned the hard way... One of our friends (a medical doctor who has decades of cruising experience) says the bleach water also helps the veggies stay edible longer. - Ryan
Two Afloat Sailing
Two Afloat Sailing - 6 years ago
Hi SV Gitana! I take about 2 1/2 to 3 gallons of water and add about 4 tablespoons of bleach. I'm estimating the bleach as I pour straight from the bottle. I let the veggie and fruit sit for about 3 minutes and then let them dry. I'll rub the apples, broccoli, cauliflower etc. (produce from overseas) in the solution to help with getting off any pesticides. Bananas only get dunked in the ocean to flush out any unwanted bugs aka roaches. :) Nicole

Ok, I understood about 10% of what you said...what is snubing the chain? and the float thing? what for? I love it all, but explain in more detail for us arm chair quarterbacks.....please....and Love the comment, "use the engine to move forward to get the chain"...I thought the windlass does that....after popping the 40amp circuit breaker about four times I discovered, the windless is designed to pull the weight of the chain, not pull your boat forward and pull in the chain!....

Hi Dan. I'll make sure to include what the heck that all means in one of our up coming vids. :) Yesterday there was good vis in the water so I shot some footage of the pearl buoys on the chain and of the snubber. Explanations will be included...maybe even the whiteboard. :) Cheers! Nicole
