Apart from the 3d aspect, this simulator is not even approaching the breadth or quality of Sail Simulator 5, which hasn't been updated for many years. While SS5 is lacking in many areas, it does have reasonably believable sailing characteristics. VR Regatta looks graphically clean and pleasant, but it is nowhere near the sophistication of a now very old simulator whose customers are not impressed by the developers total lack of interest in updating it. I hope that VR Regatta is gradually improved, but at the moment the selling point seems to be its VR and this is really not the most important attribute to concentrate on. At the moment the controls are somewhat dumbed down and the boats are too easy to point upwind.

Really nice video but this is not a review. It's just a live recording of the gameplay, with no critical insight. I find this rather disappointing since the title says and I quote: "review".

@Sim UK A gameplay review is a review. A gameplay review should show how the game is played and include insight into it's strengths and weaknesses. To do that type of review, you need to have put some time and thought into the game or sim prior to the review. Playing a game for the first time on camera is not a review.

Hi Flavia thank you, but I must point out this is NOT a Review it is a Gameplay Review. As usch it is a collection of my thoughts and first look experiences whilst I play the game for the first time.
If you checkout my channel we have a number of in-depth full reviews and often before that we have first look or gameplay reviews and now we even have quick reviews too.

We're currently working on bug fixes and usability improvements to VR Regatta and this video is super helpful!

Some of the things that are coming: "adjust height from within the boat", "more tutorials", "more hints on what to do".

The new update has a feature that detects low frame-rate and reduced "water" quality - so it's not transparent but more players should get 90FPS

I would think the 40-50 fps would also probably give you seasickness too! Most VR games need to run around 80-90 or so I've heard for the sickness to not occur!

wow,..looks really cool that. Watching this on a normal monitor probably doesn't do it justice when it comes to that 3D immersion effect. Still hoping you can do an ETS video using the Oculus Rift.

I literally spent an entire day trying g to get ets 2 to work with my oc....had to uninstal and start again, maybe I'll try towards the end of the month.

Looks cool , you wan't to try to keep those FPS up over 90 , That's gonna make you want to barf! , but at least you could do it over the side .... LOL !

Only VR I have tried is the sony one which was quite incredible for me, this game would be kinda of make me anxious of falling in the water :D
