http://www.thegreenblue.org.uk With energy costs rising clubs have to think harder about how they use energy and how they can save it. After all, money saved on energy can be spent on boats and kit!. Using PedGens, pedal powered generators that produce energy as you pedal, The Green Blue's stand (TGB) aims to raise awareness of how much it takes to create energy and how important it is to be energy efficient. Visitors to the stand can try out the PedGens and see how much energy they can produce in one minute; enough to boil a kettle or power a TV? Clubs can get advice from on what you can do to reduce your energy consumption at your club -- as well in the home - and pick up a free Club Eco-Kit from TGB team on the stand (E33). The kits contain practical products that will help your club to monitor and hopefully reduce utility bills, prevent water pollution and at the same time increase environmental awareness amongst club members. They include an Owl wireless energy monitor, a fuel and oil spill kit, phosphate free boat wash, a spill reducing fuel pour spout as well as a selection of The Green Blue posters, leaflets and a copy of the RYA's 'Go Green' book. Each kit is worth over £90 but thanks to support from The Crown Estate, The Green Blue is providing them free of charge.
