This is shot right at the top of the harbour, so there is only 50 m fetch so hence very small waves. There is the cambermet mast in the harbour which has very accurate wind readings.

camera is looking downwind the whitecaps are on the opposite side of the waves, i think it'd still be closer to 25knts than 30 though to be honest

How are you in 30 knots of wind and i dont see one whitecap?

the gopro is on a handlebar mount. It's then on a stick of bamboo about two foot long taped to the boom. We have little lanyard line (yellow) which then ties to the outhaul fitting on the boom end just in case it gets knocked off.

nice planing going there :) what type of mount for the go pro did you use and how did you get the pole into the boob and make it stay there ?
