Thanks for the video Patrick. I have recently become interested in sailing, and am watching as many videos as possible to absorb info. It is your channel, and I appreciate the work you put in, and the fact that it is there for me to learn, so please don't take this the wrong way! This video could have been a bit better if you could have added voice over when editing. Maybe your situation doesn't make that an easy task, or you don't have the equipment, so keep on posting regardless! I have just watched a lot of videos over the last months, and trying to listen to people talk over wind noise is unbearable, which is why I assume you added the notations.
Again, I love the stuff you are posting, keep it up!

Thank you for your critique. I know a lot about sailing but I started from ground zero with videos. I had never before taken a video with my Canon camera. I have gotten callouses on the brain from the long hours of learning and experimenting with the editing process. Production wise, the newer videos are better than those earlier ones. Wind noise is a major problem. Where we have been sailing in the Indian Ocean, and now the east coast of Africa, it is far too expensive to have any simple things, like a proper microphone, shipped in and such simple things found in America or Australia, are not available here. I have started doing far more voice overs because of wind noise.....or worse, the terrible, broken, audio on my GoPro camera. That audio is totally unusable. Background music levels are a real challenge especially since my hearing is so bad. My wife has laser hearing so understand speech with a lot of background noise is no problem for her. This makes us a bad team for setting audio and music levels. I always appreciate feedback for audio levels. ....So hopefully viewers will gain something from the videos but I definitely learn from their feedback. Thanks again

what do you do with leftover fuel from filter that you have in plastic bottle? Do you put it back in a canister?

Hi Taras, Thanks for watching. If I have used engine oil on board, I mix the fuel into the old oil and dispose of it at the next developed city we stop at. Otherwise, it is used to help burn our garbage on a remote island.

thank you for the comment. I could never blame my fuel problems on "bad fuel" put on at the dock. The filter does a good job of separating out water and contaminates whether from a dock pump or what might accumulate in the jugs stored on deck. Kicking up the level of biocide in my two diesel tanks and draining the contaminates from the Racor filter is taking care of the contaminated fuel problem perpetrated by not adding enough biocide while in S.E. Asia. Right now we are in Rodrigues, east of Madagascar, and all is well.

Hi John, Thanks for the positive. Yes, there are 2 tanks on Brick House. This boat is vintage 1976 and eventually the one original tank was replaced by 2 tanks. I like 2 tanks as it helps to balance and distribute the weight. Normally this boat will list to port so we use the fuel and water, first from the port tanks.
