Good, but also I was taught and sail that a tight flat sail is good in very light air. The reason being, is the greater radius of a full sail causes the air to detach. So very light-tight, mid-looser, high-tighter. You should also talk about on a run. Thanks

+Edward Jones Edward, that's correct. A flatter shape can be an advantage in ghosting conditions (winds <6 knots). In that case, the outhaul should have moderate tension to keep the mainsail flat down low. This makes it easier for super light air to stay glued to the sail.
