I really enjoy your videos but it can be very difficult to hear what you are saying and I am sure I may be missing some real gems. Is it possible you could ‘normalise’ the audio levels when you are editing the video? BTWI use depth under the keel - but then I charter in Greek waters so tides not the biggest issue;-)

Depth of Water. I think it makes the calculations easier. If I can I try and anchor on a contour line and then check the actual depth against my calculated depth. I also like to check the instrument reading against my lead line (yes I do carry one). If everything checks out to about the same I know I can sleep easy.

Totally agree, too easy to get the calcs wrong, especially if slightly rushed, which can easily be the case. And everyone should carry a lead line. In case you loose depth, like we did today.
