Sailing singlehanded on Lake Union on one of our Blanchard Knockabout sloops is one of the greatest benefits and joys of being a "checked-out" sailor at the Center for Wooden Boats! With a few tips and a little practice, sailing single handed is easy and you can handle the tiller, main sheet and jib sheet. Take a look at this video which was filmed by CWB volunteer Pam Moore, it explains a few tips for handling the jib. In the next video in this series, we'll look at some advanced tips for sailing sloops single handed, including how to handle gusts and heavy wind!
