THE DANGER OF TROPICAL INFECTIONS - SAILING FOLLOWTHEBOAT Ep 98

Is this what every cruiser dreams about? Are places like the Anambas why people give up normal life to become ocean nomads? Yes, apart from when that small scratch turns really bad in the tropics... ๐ If you enjoyed this video, please LIKE, COMMENT, SHARE & SUBSCRIBE, your feedback gets us noticed by YouTube and helps people discover us! Thank you. Despite Jamie's infected wound, we loved the Anambas, and at the end of this video Liz sums up why it is every cruiser's dream destination, and why it's what we are all searching for. It's the end of this extraordinary experience... BUT we are on our way to a brand new adventure in the coming months! "Sailing in Indonesia is dangerous," according to people who have never been there. Living on a sailboat brings you into contact with all kinds of people, and without fail we have received the warmest of welcomes as we discover Indonesia. See your using a panny GH5 now. I have one as well. I like it but the low light performance leaves a lot to be desired. What do you guys think of yours?
Glad your ok. Remember Jamie, chicks dig scars!

good lord jammie , take care out there mate, edited gorgeous ep guys awesome in so many level , the lush imagery is fantastic
Septicemia kills more foreigners in the tropics than skin cancer, sharks and pirates combined.
Its something to do with the heat and humidity, that stops skin from healing as quickly as in colder countries.
Back in the 1950's/60's/70's my dad had a diesel oil fired cook stove(and oven) that provided all our heat. He had a 40' then later a 52' salmon trawler. All you needed was a auto- pulse(electric fuel pump) and a sight glass inline so you could adjust the drips going into the cook/heater stove. It couldn't have used all that much fuel because, on the 40' boat, we only carried 300 gallons of diesel. We'd be out up to two weeks at a time, depending on how long it took to fill the boat with fish.(It packed 6 tons)
Hope this helps. I have no ides if they still make marine diesel stoves like I'm telling you about but expect they do.
Love your videos. Be careful and all the best to you guys.

people get treated nicely by other nice people you're very worthy. Great location enhanced by great music thanks !
We are sourcing more of it to keep in our boat's med kit since it worked so darn well for her. I think it would be perfect for the kind of wound Jamie recently suffered. It isn't even medicated. It is just a special kind of high-tech micro-porous foam that allows the puss and exuding goo from a wound to be rapidly and safely sucked out and away from the wound so it is kept clean inside, but not dried-out, while the body can heal itself under the dressing unfettered by the poisons produced by any infections or whatever. The overnight improvements using this dressing was nothing short of shocking. Not only did the skin heal extraordinarily quickly, but scarring was kept to an absolute minimum which was very nice in the case of my wife as these types of procedures can be quite disfiguring.
As a segue I'd be interested in hearing just what is in your med kit. Clearly one needs more than a bandage or two when cruising. Take care, eh.
Only place i dont get infections is in usa mainland.
My worst was leptospyrosis in thailand. Nearly killed me.
There was recently a thai man in thailand scratched by a cat 3 days later he was in hospital with flesh eating disease he lost his leg a few weeks later and then he lost his life.
So be fuckin carefull man.
I hope you go to Dr .
Thanks for sharing.
