I've been on 25 cruises none of which were NCL so far and this is the only cruise line I know of that DOESNT include bottled water in the premium drink package. I just found this out yesterday. So for a 2 person 7-day cruise it's going to cost about $55 -$70 dollars for water for the week!

If you happen to be one of the many people with Diabetes, take note, the only sugar free mixers on board is diet coke, so if you like perhaps, Gin&Tonic, bring your own diet tonic. (Do check with NCL as they may now have updated) Cheers

Hey Sameh. Everyone can dine in the Main Dining Rooms, Buffet and Pub for free. You can buy the Speciality dining packages from the My NCL website or your travel agent.

I called this phone 18662347350 and asked about a cruise ship that had sailed on Saturday 24 at 1:00 PM from Cape Canaveral.
As we all know, the Dorian storm, which is likely to become a hurricane, is making the situation in the Caribbean Sea dangerous.
And the representative of the company that attended to me, could not give me any kind of update about such an risky situation.
Either the company is bullshit or the representative is, maybe it is one or the other or both.

If you want to stay with the complementary dining it won’t help at all. BUT the food in the specialty restaurants is amazing! The dining package cuts your bill nearly in half. For example my wife and I received the free at sea promotion for 4 dinners. We would have spent close to $1000 dollars and didn’t pay a dime. One night we didn’t use it and payed nearly $300 for ala carte. Roughly $15 for an appetizer $15 for a salad $45 for an amazing steak and $15 for desert. Add a glass or two of wine and boom $300. Dining package would be about $22 a dinner rather that $150. Trust me if you do a specialty restaurant it’s worth every penny. Even if you only purchase 2 nights and had complementary the other nights, it’s a steal compared to ala carte.

On Princess at the water taps in the buffet restaurant, they had a sign that says not to fill one’s container, which is great as some idiots would put the water spout inside the bottle and transfer germs from the bottle to the tap. They wanted you to use a clean glass. I hope NCL would have the same rule.

You only have to pay for shows if they are not in the main theater but that's because the shows that are not in the main theater are one of those meal and a show altogether

Hey thanks for the video! I usually go RC cruises, and this is my first time going NCL (I will go on the Epic) and I have some questions.

1. It's true that the free WiFi is just for 250 minutes?
2. If my offer includes the "dinning package" when I booked the ship, do I have to pay an additional fee on specialty dinning?
3. Do they have complimentary nursery for my baby? If not, do you know how much it will cost?
4. I've heard that the "Ice Bar" aboard charges $25/pp just to let you in. It's that true?
5. Do I have an amount of time to register on My NCL to start booking some shore excursions and to make some show reservations for my trip?

I know that those are a lot of questions but if you can answer some, I will appreciate your advice.

We didn't get any free Wifi when we sailed. Have you got this as part of a package.

2. If my offer includes the "dinning package" when I booked the ship, do I have to pay an additional fee on specialty dinning?
If you have a dining package there are no extra fees unless you buy an additional main course.

3. Do they have complimentary nursery for my baby? If not, do you know how much it will cost?
$20.00 USD per Time Block Session/first child, $16.00 USD per Time Block Session/ for each sibling. Extra costs for late night fees.

It goes upto $24.00 USD after 11:00p.m.

4. I've heard that the "Ice Bar" aboard charges $25/pp just to let you in. It's that true?
Yes thats correct. You get one drink included.

5. Do I have an amount of time to register on My NCL to start booking some shore excursions and to make some show reservations for my trip?
You can register My NCL from the moment you book.

On the Norwegian Bliss during summer of 2019 they offered "Port Valet." This service requires you to complete a form by Wednesday (if the cruise ends on Sunday) and with this Norwegian will check you into your airline secure your boarding passes and luggage tags. You then put your luggage out the night before the cruise ends, they pick it up, ship it to the airport, check your baggage at your airline and you simply collect your baggage when your flight is over. A no brainer.

Even if you have a small case you have to check it--occasionally there is a delay in bringing it to your cabin, so--put your toilet bad and a change of socks and undies in your carry-on hand bag. And when talking of the extra-pay restaurants, the food in the regular all-included restaurants is excellent. I went in a solo cabin, the shower was VERY small. Every morning I went to the gym before b'fast and after exercising showered in their very spacious showers.

Thank you boys for this insightful video. I’m wanting to take my first ever cruise in 2021 (ages away) I’m wanting to either do a transatlantic cruise, or a 2/3 week cruise around the Caribbean. It taking me so long to save because ill be a solo traveler & do t like the idea of being in an inside cabin (I’d feel to claustrophobic) so I’m wanting to save a little extra for a balcony cabin. What you didn’t say was if you take the drink package you must pay the gratituty extra. We were told on our 12 day transAtlantic leaving from New York if we chose the drink package we would pay $480 for the “free” drink package

NCL IS GARBAGE. They don't allow you to bring drones. So you can fly them when you get off on the islands not on board it won't make sense to do that. Carnival Cruise line lets you bring them on board.

Never been on the Dawn, though I've been on Escape, Getaway, Star. Extension cords are allowed. Just NO iron. You can ask the steward for an iron. I'm sure they have white party on all the ships

You forgot to mention all the perks for solo cruisers! There's a solo studio (interior rooms with their own dedicated hallway and access) that cost less than paying the 100% single supplement (depending on the ship/itin/sail date). Plus, access to the solo lounge. The lounge is stocked with snacks, wine vending machines, and non-carbonated drinks 24/7. At certain hours, they send a bartender up there. The solo travelers have their own coordinator with whom they eat dinner or meet somewhere every night and coordinate buddying up for excursions or whatever. It's a great way to meet other solo travelers and it's nice to have a room by yourself. It ain't exactly a roomy room, but it's cute and it's just you. I saw a lot of families use solo studios as a place to stow their parents or in-laws.

Not a fan of NCL. Biggest problem is the ''FREE'' perks aren't free at all. The drink package that is free actually costs you over $200 for so called service fees. Their latest advertised scam is FREE AT SEA package that is prefaced by the line ''FOR AN ADDITIONAL FEE''....really it isn't free at all. Do the execs at NCL actually know the meaning of the word ''FREE''.

I agree! Free at Sea is a LIE! I called NCL to book a cruise recently, and after they priced the "Free At Sea" promotion which was crazy high, I emailed NCL and ripped them a new one because of their deceitful marketing tactics. That was maybe the 3rd time I had tried to book with them. I also raised hell with Online Vacation Center. They apologized and seemed embarrassed. The agent agreed it was a bogus promo and he seemed really irritated that he had to waste his time every day quoting people NCLs fake promo.

Just got off the Huge Getaway last week...this ship was soo large..walking end to end really got to me tho....wish they had a few little fish on EVERY deck not just in cabin hallways... Loved the any time dining...went up to the buffet or that first cup of Joe and a Danish in the early morning..brought it back to room then went down to Savor for breakfast... Free flowing ice cream was the best too...remember every shop and casino closes while in port....that was a surprise to me...water always free at bar or buffet ...are you a USA person? Bring some dollars to tip ...and use on shore...best tip I have was in Couzemel Mexico....go to the local grocery store for vanilla only 20 paso' or one USD..for a good souviner...walking distance from ship too...very warm temps even in October...just got back from my first cruise would do it again for sure...oh BTW. NCL has solo cabins and solo areas as well...any time dining is the best....in room tv was awful tho...they missed a chance to improve there...like deck cams around the ship so you could check out an area b 4 U go...pool area and atrium cam would be great they only had one cam a bow camera....enjoyed the cruise a lot a lot tho...oh yes be ready for a salt water pool...hot tubs are fresh chlorinated water tho....

Hi guys... Quick question about bringing your own wine. You mentioned the $15 corkage fee, but one point I've seen mixed answers for is whether you can open it yourself in your cabin or not. Some people have told me that they take your wine upon boarding and keep it for you, and you can only consume it in the restaurants.

I think they will open it at the restaurant then you can take whatever is left, back to your cabin...but they will take and hold it on embarkation..

Typically nice video! At least in the US, you can take two bottles of wine per stateroom without a corkage fee. They charge beyond that.

Rita, not trying to talk you out of Norwegian, but consider HAL as well. The only two cruised I've been on were a Mexican Riviera on Carnival, and a West Coast on HAL. Carnival didn't even come close to HAL. We didn't do specialty dining on HAL, and every meal we ate in the main dining area was to die for. I'm looking at going on my first Norwegian cruise soon, but it's going to have a lot to live up to dining wise in order to impress me.

Not sure if it is the same on all ships, but another tip for figuring out where you are on the escape, when taking the stairs the mirrors on the walls in the aft staircase are square and mirrors in the forward staircase are round.

Really like the look of NCL they do sound fun ships. Concerning that there are so many hidden costs though so thanks for highlighting that. That way you can work out your budget and not have any surprises! I can never get my head around having to pay some one to open a bottle of wine that you have already bought but I guess it works out cheaper than what they would charge for a bottle on board. Thanks for the tips!

Paul and Carole Love to Travel I am a retired travel agent, and those clients that wanted NCL came back always disappointed. I never recommended them. Choose Princess or Celebrity first.

Not strictly true. If you have booked in the UK, Europe or Australia the Premium All Inclusive deal means that there are no hidden costs.

If you book from the US you can choose from the free at sea deals although you will have to pay the gratuities on these.

7 cruises on NCL and I absolutely love it.

Paul and Carole Love to Travel ..you can always pay as you go everyday...check your bill in cabin on the tv....
Cheaper to have a night or two out drinking ala carte....

..... Unless you like to drink daily the package deal is way too much....
