TOP 10 TIPS FOR TRAVELLING TO SAYULITA MEXICO | We share our top 10 tips that we have learned over the past two weeks living here in Sayulita, Nayarit, Mexico. These are all things we would have loved to know before coming! We hope they help you out. :) All the tips are written below but we go into way more detail in the video. We teach you how to stay safe, save money, how to find the best spots, and how to stay out of trouble! I’m planning on flying into PV in late January and staying in Sayulita. I will arrive in PV a few hours before my friend, and I’ve never been to Mexico so I’m wondering if I should venture out and check out PV until he arrives and we head to Sayulita.Flying in on Thursday, Jan 25 and leaving Monday. Definitely going to be watching lots of videos for tips.

Hey there.. a fellow CDN from YYC just booked our trip. Thanks for posting, looking for ideas and tips. Esp. buying groceries. One question, did you and Fraser rent a car? If so, where? Read to avoid renting from companies at the airport.. fees advertised online as cheap but that they tact on all sorts of fees and taxes. Will be checking your other posts!!!

Yes, and for some, there's San Pancho and Lo de Marcos just North of Sayulita ideal for older tourists that don't like the congestion of tourist centers and they are much cheaper, too; however, my preference is South Shore P.V. Where there's more activities and more choices, but the Mexican resorts all have a different flavor, too, and are more "native" like Guayabitos. Moreover, you can pick free fruit from jungle Mango trees and Guava, too, perhaps along the main route - just turn off on side roads and look up for MANGOS to make the best Vitaminas (blended fruit) in the World.

Some retirees have tried other locations, too, like Panama, Ecuador and Costa Rica, etc., but Puerto Vallarta is large enough to offer most first world experiences. Some places in Mexico can be very primitive, so nice to have the services like a Costco, decent Restaurants and medical services for when you need them. I sort of like being close to the Mexican people like in a village, but also like access to an expat community, too, to share experiences. And, unless you haven't noticed, American and first world countries are NOT getting any better, so it can be nice to go back in time a few decades and be in a society that has more time for people. It's only that poverty can be hard to take sometimes, too, but it is a trade off.

Great advice! Last time I went to Mexico I stayed in Guayabitos and when we were just there in March we stayed one night in Lo de Marcos with some friends. It's great how there are so many different vibes so close to each other. Something for everyone! :)

Do you guys actually live there or are you visiting for an extended period of time? It looks beautiful but it didn't look the the place that people go and stay, surely if it was it would be very over-populated, right?

We went for a month. It is definitely a place where people go and stay if you have the right opportunity and can work, etc.
