This is a scratch built version of the Toro Wing. EPP cut by flying friend George to be setup as a light weight slow night flier. I'll install some LED strips eventually. laminating film ironed on to both sides of the elevons will make them stiff... the same film put on to the wing will make the wing stronger.. Even used for replacing spars....laminating film is easy to apply with a modelling iron, setting the temperature just below the melting point of the foam gets a good bond.. This works well on EPP and Depron types of foam, and I use it a lot in strips for stopping flex on all sorts of models

I found its more wing twist than elevons. Don't want to add any weight, it's fine at slower speeds.

Loved that slow fly,almost as good as the slope!Envy you your flying field, nice amount of space with a great coloured sky and cloud backdrop.Another enjoyable video.Only question, could you advise on prop size please....Cheers John

Just discovered the problem is wing twist more than elevons. But it's not a problem at normal speeds. I want to keep this as light as possible.

Ah, low wing loading....As soon as you launched it you could see it was flying properly....These things are picky on wing section, reflex is what you need, and not just in the Elevons either....Something our Chinese friends seem to ignore all the time.
Which is why they nod all over the sky.

Thats the slowest cruising speed. It can go much faster to punch through the wind but it's best in calm wind

White glue and brown paper should fix the elavons it adds a lot of stiffness to depron type foam.
Office works have small to large rolls cheap , it whieghs 50 GSM.

Was thinking the same thing, seems to work though. I'll try an 1806 I have lying around for a similar build. Little lighter with comparable power.
