Good question! But, GS's usually don't move much. You find them in Marinas, or at anchor in one place for a LONG TIME.

That my friend depends on the size of your balls and the weight of your chain! You need to practice playing with your balls and get the length just right. To be serious, I put the first ball between 18 and 22 meters, and the second at about 28 to 32 meters.
