My GF wanted us to try living small. She pulled out two identical totes and said that they were for our cloths. Yeah....she's 5'3 and I'm 5'10. She purged like mad (thank god, it was overdue) and fit her newly downsized wardrobe in the box. I got a pair of jeans, a hoodie and a couple of pairs of socks in mine. We determined then that because I take up more space, I therefore require more space. Thank goodness we "experimented" before we made a silly mistake that would never have worked for us.

I had that many books that couldn't go on a Kindle and were good references to keep. Funny thing, they're on the Kindle now, after a guillotine cutter and a scanner. Haven't figured out how to condense the toolboxes though.

20 bottles of wine. With my current girlfriend we might make it 10 days. The easiest way to clean your s*it according to a buddy of mine is to cheat on your wife. If the wife cheats on you well that would be a 120 pound anchor you no longer have.

It's working for me in a 2,000 sq ft bouse. Not exactly tiny-house living, but I've decluttered significantly in the past few yrs.

I still have three issues to address - books, tools, & heirlooms like a rocker that my great-great grandfather built 140 odd yrs ago, my grandad's drawing board (which serves as a dining room table), my dad's drawing board (which serves as a drawing board), etc. Small towns can't match my personal library & I've been collecting tools & equipment for more than 50 yrs, including the inherited tools from four generations.

So far my best solution is big-damned-boat.
