up in Charlotte, NC. We used to go to Myrtle beach every year and there
was sandy soil pretty far inland from the coast. Does this mean that the
Atlantic coast was much further inland thousands or millions of years ago
? I think someone once told me that but I don't know if it is true.

At least one influential individual is spreading the word about the killer insects.
Hey @SharkWeek, sharks are cool, but they’re not even close to being the deadliest animal: http://t.co/bvE7TuaBZF pic.twitter.com/aWjbnw46N4

Megalodon never scored a career high 45 points?! Buckets are friends, not FOOD?!?
100. comment for BIGEGEST SHARK THAT EVER LIVED - Giant prehistoric Shark 'The Megaloden'
You watch Discovery Channel's mockumentaries much?
"..there are huge ones reported via scout plane..."
Whatever that's supposed to mean...You do realize that simple claims are not going to convince anyone except the most gullible and naive?
"..and a big momma shark that was tagged and had measuring equipment went missing the equipment washed ashore what ever hit her ate her in one bite..."
Not true either...the tagged shark was 10 feet/3 meters long (white shark grow at least up to 20 ft/ 6 meters) and the tag probably was bitten off and ingested by another white shark. We don't even know if the tagged shark was killed, let alone eaten...
And I get so sick of people trying to shove these lies down my throat.
The truth is, there five thousand years old.
Not millions of years old.
To get it right, here's a real video to watch.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/321144958237287/permalink/603868076631639/
If you get so sick by being fed lies, you wouldn't be watching creationist videos and visiting their websites.
"There is no such thing as prehistoric."
No, just a magical age where magical beings pop other beings into existence, we understand...
"Carbon dating can't be proven..:"
Well, for one thing scientists don't use carbon-dating to date fossils because there is no carbon left inside a fossil to date. Perhaps you should actually try and understand what carbon-dating is and is used for by scientists before criticizing it.
Great Whites and Megalodon aren't even closely related. Also fyi, Great White coexisted with the Megalodon.
still exists. Then there was the more recent case that a boat went down off the coast of South Africa
due to an attack by the Megalodon. Also a whale carcass off the coast of Hawaii showed that a whale was chopped in half.
And even a report of a giant reptile called the Mosasaur that was reported by an eye witness during WWII. Also a video
deep under an oil rig that showed a megalodon deep underwater.
"And even a report of a giant reptile called the Mosasaur that was reported by an eye witness during WWII. Also a video deep under an oil rig that showed a megalodon deep underwater."
Got any sources for these claims?
ON THE ONE DAY THAT YOU GUYS START RECORDING you find a megaladon tooth just right there on the beach this guy has been looking through for 10 years
Tooootally not calling bull shit
-Matthew Out!
A plastic cast , perhaps made with a 3D- Printer one thinks. But : NO !
A Moment later he takes somekind of sample , obtaining
Another guy again uses out of his own collection of theeth , the largest almost identical ones , TO FIT ÉM IN A JAWBONE that he first CONSTRUCTED
(-BASED ON EARLIER REPRESENTATIONS OF HOW IT LOOKED LIKE IN 1908 !!!!! )
THE THING IS EVEN BIGGER THAN that ONE..1
Have you got a credible source for that claim?
"How explane you that allso Noach from the flood have species types young dinosaur one his ship."
Well, how do you know Noah did?
"Go to website from Kent Hovind age en the true dinosaur and the age off the woreld."
So, Kent Hovind is your source?
The two aren't even closely related.
bon voyage season 2anyone???? heheheglad to see you still active in this thread. Hope you can spare a minute for my prior comment as well...
"There are other creatures in our oceans that we've thought that had gone extinct, but are now roaming the oceans now. We cannot discount that these beasts survived when, as I said before, others had."
Before, you compared the megalodon to a Komodo dragon. How exactly are those animals comparable?
Now you mention creatures in our oceans that we had thought were extinct but are still roaming the ocean. Again, in what way are they comprable to megs?
"We've only explored a very small portion of our vast ocean spaces compared to our space explorations"
Yes, another very popular argument, but how about taking into account what we do know first? You totally disregard that. Why?
"There have been sightings of this beast and was even caught on underwater cameras, especially next to oil rigs."
have you got a source for that? To date you haven't even addressed my first comment here.
"They're the only sharks known to man that can be stationary and can swim vertically."
Where are you getting this info from? The pseudo-documentary "Shark of Darkness - Wrath of Submarine" by chance?
1. Nothing was documented in 1985. What you are referring to is a made up story which has been copied on Youtube by the likes of Riddle. ---> https://steemit.com/history/@fairider/secrets-of-the-mariana-trench
The ship Glomar Challenger was already long out of service and scrapped by 1985, so it couldn't have lowered the "hedgehog" into the Trench in that year. ---> http://www-odp.tamu.edu/glomar.html
Accordingly there was no fresh tooth found. As you claim it was documented, please provide the source you are referring to here.
2. If megs were similar to white sharks, there is no rational reason whatsoever to assume it was a deep-sea shark nor would it be rational to assume it would elude our observation.
3. All those videos you are referring to show either large white sharks, whale sharks or basking sharks or faked footage from Dis covery Channel's mockumentaries Megalodon: The Monster Shark Lives (2013) and Megalodon: The New Evidence (2014) or footage from horror films or documentaries. To date there is not a single video that shows a present-day megalodon.
The sperm whale story from Vancouver coast was a hoax: http://www.sagenews.com/article.asp?id=3052
If you mean this from Hawaii https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRwFpDkQYP4&t=2s then it is from the mockumentary Megalodon: The Monster Shark Lives. That isn't real either. Those are actors, the whale merely CGI.
4. In what way is the Komodo dragon really comparable to C. megalodon?
5. 99% of all animals have gone the way of the dodo. It is you that must explain why the meg should be the exception.
6. As with most meg-lives-advocates, there is no consideration whatsoever on what scientists do claim about this shark or its extinction. Why?
Edit yep i see i came to the right conclusion
Great article. But hey What do they know right. They're just experts
And until one shred of evidence is discovered there's no argument.
Carcharocles megalodon
They haven't lived for 2 million years............
Edit: Don't pick on me for being bothered about it, okay?
lol
in years of searching for a tooth......he finds one the day a camera are rolling...Awesome!!!!.
Everybody to the sea! Let's go megalodon vertebrae hunting!
they who
those damn megalodens
Finding a large area FULL of med teeth then having a camera crew come to recreate the findings- t.v. show
#facts
Is real true the teeth fake
is the capital of England.
then Megalodon who is the Strongest predator ever lived .
You neither can say its true just because YOU where there.
Eye witness is the lowest form of evidence, when you wanting to make a scientific point which aparrently only you saw.. same with “aliens”..
Not saying you’re lying, but your evidence is just not there:-)
Nope
Maybe back before the dinosaurs and after the dinosaurs the oceans and climate were perfect for big animals
But at this point and time our planet doesn't have the sufficient air, heat and resources for anything bigger than a Blue Whale
You keep forgetting that earth was different from what we have now billions of years ago
If we had a bit more oxygen we'd actually have giant bugs but we don't do bugs stay tiny unlike the time when we had plenty of it and thus the age of giant bugs
I just want u to admit ur lying or keep getting triggered. Btw does your whale have enough storage space for a branding iron, a gun and something to stab me with??
In. A. Blue. Whale. Feeding. Ground.
How obvious do I have to make it. But were u even there. I'm starting to doubt you've ever even seen the ocean let alone a whale because u clearly have problem. This is really fun arguing with u btw.
You may think it wasn't a blue whale but you can't be sure unless you see atleast 10-15 blue whales live
Great whites and Megalodon coexisted.
The two aren't even related.
Thanks for attempting to be smart but you're dismissed
Tigers on average grow a few inches longer and weigh more by like 1 or 2 hundred pounds
Tigers are Bigger and ironically enough have more stamina
Tigers are know to chase down prey longer if necessary
But Tigers usually go straight for the Fatal blow meaning normally they attack the throat
Now here's where the lion normally takes the victory Lions have thick means that actually protect their throats therefore it's almost impossible for Tiger to fatally take down a lion quick enough
Tigers normally go for a pin down into a jugular bite very quick kills
Lions on the other hand use their powerful blows from their paws to inflict stun and knockdowns
Therefore usually in a fight a lion can get the upper hand because of the protection of its main and the fact that it'll actually sit there and box with its opponent rather than go straight in for the kill like a tiger wood tigers are too quick for their own good
It's the same with Tigers and Lions
On average Tigers are bigger and stronger yet Lions are considered King of the Jungle
It's because Tigers tend not to risk the injury of fighting
Tigers hunt and sneak up on prey
Lions tend to actually fight their prey
Bbjhh
And the GW fears Orcas, as well. There was a Nat Geo documentary that showed an Orca killing a GW, and what the sonar readings showed is immediately after the Orca killed the GW, all the other GWs fled the area, which is known to be a gathering place for GWs. Again, I'm a big fan of the GW, but puuuleeaaase stop with the "ultimate predator" crap, because as fearsome as the GW is, the Orca puts the GW to shame.
Yes.
more people have died stepping on legos than from wild orcas.
i guess the coconut is the apex predator of the beach then,
more coconuts kill humans than sharks
Hell no, orca can solo great white easily.
Look at SQUALODON that they are mentioning that can possibly in group bother this ENORMOUS MEGALODON : it, has a typical Fish-eating set of teeth..!
No Shastasaurus is the largest oceanic predator we have ever found.
Orcas kill great white sharks as adults. The only time an orca is preyed upon by another predatory species is when the orca is incredibly young. As juveniles and adults, no animal except for humans can prey on them. Even a white shark cannot take on and survive an orca attack.
"6th sense" All organisms have more than five senses. It's not magic. Cetaceans do not "sense magnetic fields." Their brains, just like ours and many other mammals, do possess magnetite, which is part of long-term memory processes in organisms that can quantify such experiences.
It's pretty fucking hilarious that a bunch of bloodthirsty kids want to (1) see animals rip each other to shreds (2) think they know more ecology than ecologists (3) think they know more marine biology than marine biologists.
Humans can be resourceful enough to kill a great white but that doesnt make us top predator in the ocean.
An individual adult orca is more than enough to kill a white shark.
The scientist just miss out this.
The huge "Black Demon/Devil Shark" reported in the Sea of Cortez, is likely a Whale Shark. They get pretty damn big too, and have been confirmed to be in the area.
Proof of evolution- tons
It's called a FOSSIL if dinosaur bones are still being found why can't a huge shark fossil be real?
-Serena XD
MEGALODON........who probably would swallow orca in one gulp
CORRECT
why not? stupider is wrong.
and dumber is easier to say.
yes, more than a shark.
you've said that, repeating an unfunny joke doesn't make it funny.
depends on what you mean, orcas have never attacked a human out in the wild.
A. Are you being sarcastic.
B. Megalodons have traveled to colder waters, and the orca lives in warm tempered waters aswell.
C. this was a what if question.
D. In fact, a great white is an orca's favorite meal.
it will, a pod of orcas can flip one over.
Megalodons hunt solo.
and no, orcas have hunted creatures many times their size like grey whales and even on rare occasions the blue whale.
and if the megalodon was chasing them they could moonwalk and still be more agile.
Yeah like the Megalodon will just stand there and let the Killer Whales batter her to death. Megalodon's skin is thick which would minimise the killers bite. One bite from the Mega can snap a Orca in half, and I don't see it unable to catch them. Also, if you knew anything worth shit about Orcas, you would've known they're intelligent creatures and would absolutely avoid a creature twice as big as them. If fact, in this scenario, the Orcas would be the ones running and the Megalodon chasing (if hungry).
But Orcas travel in large pods and are extremely intelligent.
Megalodon doesn't stand a chance against a large Orca pod.
Nah, mate. It's "Mer-ih-lund."
Edit: Where did these 55 likes come from? Honestly, you guys, don't you have anything better to do than liking random grammar corrections on flimsily-pronounced words in a documentary?

Leedsichthys was able to grow bigger.
