Two of the largest were 36 feet, and 37 feet. I think you know that twice the length is a lot more than twice the mass. Just like a 5 year old boy might be 3 and a half feet tall, and 40 pounds, a 7 foot tall Shaquille O'Neal weighs more than 80 pounds.

Actually, Great Whites do. They typically hunt fatty and large animals to sustain themselves and nowhere nearly to the extent has humans. To put it simply, genocide.

You should know that the ONLY thing we have of it are its teeth (which are actually quite common, since sharks are continually replacing their teeth, and dropping them, since they are not anchored in the jaw like, for instance, your own). Based on tooth size, the shark was originally estimated to be up to 60' long but most marine paleobiologists think that overstates it and put the likely size around 40' (which is actually smaller than the largest reported, albeit not verified, Great White, a 48' long shark* which washed up near, I believe, Durban, S. Africa).
Which brings up an even weirder notion. Sharks (particularly the "Requiem Sharks", the family to which the Great White belongs) tend to grow to the size of the container they are in. So, if you keep a baby Great White (usually around 4' at birth - note they are ovoviviparous) in a standard sized swimming pool, it might stay 4' long. If you then move it to an Olympic sized pool, it might then grow, e.g., to 8'. How big does it get if you put it into the biggest pool of water on the planet, the Pacific Ocean? Now, here's the thing, there really is no meaningful difference between a Megalodon's tooth and a Great White's tooth, so is it possible that they are really the same species? That Megalodon did not die out 2.6 million years ago? That it merely got smaller as whales became more difficult prey and other, smaller prey, such as seals and sea lions became available?
Who knows? So, you tell me, what about Megalodon?

I am all for animal conservation, but its obvious why people have trouble taking the people leading conservation efforts seriously because they are always acting like people have no right to not feel appalled at how horrible they and everyone else are.

A meter is just 3 feet 3 inches pretty much, 3 inches is 7.5cm since 2.5cm makes an inch, a yard is 3ft and 3 inches less than a meter...a kilometer is like .6 more than a mile, pound to usd is about the same since a pound is 50% stronger than the u.s. dollar...oh and 1 stone is 14 u.s. pounds haha
