Sharks don't find humans appealing, as food, and aren't smart enough to categorize anything outside of "food" and "other sharks"- getting in the water with a hammerhead isn't (in and of itself) too risky. That said... hand feeding any animals runs the risk of getting bit. Dumb, but fun, no one was hurt and everyone was very lucky. Cheers!

In answer to your question at 3:31, yes we all saw you sticking your hands into the ocean, grabbing the food item of a large hammer head shark that was actively feeding. No life jackets on board...Not to mention the way you were reeling in a huge fish with no proper bracing, on a tiny boat, wearing flip flops on a very slippery surface while running all over the place from bow to stern. All the safety concerns here are too numerous to count.

A shark can easily distinguish between their normal prey, and some odd looking alien in their habitat.
It's only that they tend to investigate with their mouth + teeth to see if you're edible or not? and that unfortunately spells disaster most of the time for the human.

It's a common misconception that sharks mistake you as their normal targeted food source. Trust me sharks know the difference.
