When I was 12, before I knew what a white shark was, I came up on a juvenile while paddling around on a canvas body surfing raft - it was about eight feet long, and very lethargic, so I patted it on the back, halfway between the head and the top fin. Then I saw its face, and I knew it wasn't something to be messed around with, and then it flipped his tail once and disappeared really fast, like a jet fighter in the water. I didn't have time to be scared, and when I described it to a National Geographic photographer who also happened to be my step uncle he told me what it was.

That's the coolest animal event of my entire life.

A truly amazing animal. It would be an absolute honor to see one up close in its domain, but as with any wild animals, we must always remember to respect its territory. When we go to them, they're the boss and we're nothing but the unwelcomed guests. It just pisses me off when people kill them for fins for some fucking soup delicacy. And guess what? The majority of these amazing animals are now endangered. Some even critically endangered! Also, more than 50 million of them are killed annually..!

Here's a question to expers. Why are white sharks so big? I understad the killer whales being large as they kill other whales, I can even get the sperm whales being so massive as they pray on deep sea gigantism creatures which is the reason of why probably greenland sharks can get so big (as they're blind). I don't get why White Sharks are so big as they hunt on smaller not threatening prays and not only that, some of them roam the sea in pairs! How can they survive?

I do support your side of the argument he's right on one part. Just about all species of sharks are in fact not dangerous to humans at all. On average, an attack on a human from a Great White happens only about 3-4 times a year. You have more of a chance getting in a plane wreck. A lot of cage divers will actually get out of their cage and swim side by side with a Great White. Two of the few species though that are dangerous to humans are the Bull Shark and Tiger Shark. Stay away from those

Yes, yes he did. Sharks are actually very important to the oceanic ecosystem. They clean up all the garbage by eating dead/dying fish. They keep fish populations from rising which would deplete a lot of resources. Also, you are more likely to be killed by bees, dogs, and other humans than sharks. It is a shame that people call them monsters when really people are the ones that kill them for the sheer pleasure.

It amazes me to think how many idiots think that sharks are not dangerous because they dont consider us as a regular part of their diet. Even if they attack humans by accident they are still really dangerous. They can bite a person in half with the mouth that it has. And because saltwater is an anti-coagulant you can bleed to death much quicker. It is good to have a healthy fear of nature.

Dude, relax. There are approximately 14 shark attacks a year, and only 2-3 fatalities resulting from a shark bite a year. You're actually more likely to be killed from a falling coconut than be attacked by a shark. Swimmin with sharks is awesome, and while they are curious about what humans are, they're actually a little apprehensive (shy) about us too. Not so much a Great White or Bull, but rather reef shark, blue, nurse, lemon.

I don't see why people go to the beach I'm serious that's why their is pools , think about it their are shit in the water that can fuckin kill you just by pokin you,and imagin how many people piss in that water and take dumps off the edge of the boat .and that's one damn reason I don't go in the first place cause of furkin sharks stupid ugly bastards if I'd ever saw one I'd beat it with my shoe
