Actually, no, I don't need blueprints, what I'm looking for is a specific reference to a timestamp where you think that it distinctly sounds "over produced" (That term is the most laughable term in music, because it has no actual tangible definition). I realise that you will almost certainly say that the entire song sounds overproduced, but I'm looking for a specific point where it is distinctly "over produced". If you are referring to the cleanliness of the recording, that's more often the result of the recording software and hardware itself.
At this point, to me, you sound like a 16 year old angsty punk rocker that accuses any successful band of being sellouts, or a hipster kid that wants to glorify the analog life over digitial. I understand your critique, but from what I've gathered you're really arguing live music versus studio albums.
So, to summarise, I'm aware that your critique is that she post processed her music to make it more pleasing and The Drones didn't. My criticism of your critique is that you are comparing apples and oranges and then saying that you're actually comparing the emotion of each song - which is reflected in the fact that Missy used post processing most likely, and, even though it's almost entirely certain that The Drones did as well, the original is considered, by you, not to have. Ergo, because The Drones make organic oranges, they are better than Missy's apple.
I honestly don't mean for this to be an ill intentioned argument. I just don't understand why people have to shit on artists because they do covers, and then pretend that they are really being critical of the sound itself.
If it sounds good, it doesn't matter what it is.

From overproducing, do you mean that it sounds professionally mastered? Rhetoric is fine, but if you're just critical of Missy for covering a song you like, then take your head out of the sand.
Your critique was about the sound being too "manufactured and clean" in direct reference to the original work by The Drones. The Drones' version of the song is a rock song. They have different intentions and different sounds by design.
It's your opinion, and you're totally entitled to it, but it's a pretty insulated opinion.
It's not just a cover - it's a reinvention of the lyrics for an entirely different genre. The tempo is different, it's sung by a woman, it's centered around her piano work and accompanied by a violin. If you're going to compare it against the original, you're doing yourself and the music a serious disservice.
Likewise, anybody who tries to say that Missy did it better than The Drones is doing themselves a disservice. It's like saying Richard Cheese does better work in his covers or that the originals are better than his work. Apples and oranges.
We know these are all covers. Missy's performances will bring new fans (and royalties) to the original composers.
